On my journey to work, I was following a car and the driver throw a fag butt out of the window. Obviously annoyed, but just went on my way. The car happened to pull into a car park, so decided to have a word. I asked if she had a ash tray and suggested she use it in future, but she said she don’t have one and seems to think it was perfectly acceptable to litter. S32 of PACE allows constables to search arrested persons if they have a reasonable belief that that person might have upon them evidence of an offence. Now we've discussed what would suffice to be a reasonable belief on here before, and I don't wish to re-open that can of worms. My question is simply whether ID documents (such as driving licences or passports, or even bank or library cards if they have your name on them) constitute evidence. Hello all, Friend of mine had an accident and the police officers attended the accident scene and found out that he was driving on one bald tyre. Police officer filled an accident report form and my friend didnt get any tickets or clips from the officer. But the officer noted on the accident report form saying tyres were not suitable to drive on the road. Would he get penalised? If so how manny points would he loose in his licence? He told the officers that he did't realise that he was driving on bald tire as well as he got the tires changed straightaway. Thanks

Hi, guys. I've recently gotten a job as an event steward and have been posted several times at Old Trafford, Sportcity and the Evening Arena. Most of the time it is quite a boring job, watching the crowd (and the game) while adorning a yellow reflective jacket. Last week, during the Liverpool and Manchester game, we had to take down a Liverpool supporter who was being abusive toward the players and the goalkeeper. He tried to take a swing at me, but we managed to subdue him and call security to have him ejected. Thankfully, he was not armed. All, At a recent sudden death I sezied a mobile phone relating to the deceased which offered evidence that he had committed suicide (text messages). There was never any indication that his death was suspicious or anyone else was involved. I seized the phone on the instruction of the DS and I know at a large number of other deaths any evidence which can be used (suicide note) at an inquest has been seized. Obviously HM Coroner will hold an inquest and as such the text messages will be produced, my question is what powers do we have to seize the phone? I can't see S19 PACE applying, there was no grounds for believing an offence was involved (Suicide outlawed in 1961) and…

A vehicle, left insecure, but not stolen, with no damage, is abandoned on a driveway. Its a very large driveway that is open and shared by two houses. No tax, no insurance, notified off-road and mot expired. Nobody knows of this vehicle, and although residents can still fit their cars down the side of this other vehicle, they would like it moving, as it makes things awkward, espically when they have another car coming later in the week, that will have nowhere to park. Ticket and removal for obstruction?

A mate and I were discussing how the law defines Sexual Activity, under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. So, to ask the question, what is the extent of Sexual Activity? Does it cover kissing, french kissing, touching (of say arm), touching (as in breasts or other areas)? We weren't sure whether that was included (and whether you had to intend that the activity (say of touching of the arm) was to be sexual), or whether it just covered intercourse. I took a look at s78 of the Act, but it didn't really help define it for me to be honest. Thanks

Evening All Ok so i got back from holiday two weeks ago and all over the place people sell this, and the stuff goes into a balloon, and you breathe the gas from the balloon, in and out, deep breathes. Now i have had the stuff from hospitals and had the stuff on holiday-both are totally different, the holiday one made me go all funny, blurry etc for a few minutes, the hospital one made me laugh and feel no pain. So is NO2 legal in the UK to buy/sell/posses?

If a bike is parked in public cycle park, does it make any difference if the thief has to unclip a helmet which connects the bike to the bike rack? If you just walk away with an unsecured bike can they plead it was "theft by finding" where as if you have to undo something, surely it cant just be "found". Equaly, does it make a difference if someone takes things from your garden as opposed to walking into your house through an unlocked door and take things? Thanks Edit - Spelling.

What are the legal restrictions that may have to be dealt with when conducting a search of a person (albeit a S23, S1 etc etc). What have you had to deal with..?

Iam going to be made a camp warden on the campsite where i go and attend Explorer Scout meetings which is in Radcliffe at Giant Seat Campsite, and although it is private property we seem to have a problem with people on cross bikes riding on the field and then going in to the woods, the land owner told us it is illegal according to three different acts, which i cant now remember, could anyone please point me in the right direction of these acts.
