Just recieved this e-mail. Er i'm not even a member of E-bay, looks like someone has been using my e-mail address to sell no-existant goods and some poor stupid begger has bought an invisible laptop from me, which didn't exist. Ok, so in a test today we had a question. A man is angry at his ex employer, so goes round to his house and enters as a trespasser with the intent to spray paint his walls with obscenities. Ok fine, textbook 9(i)(a). While he's in the house, he picks up a walking stick in case the owner comes down the stairs and he needs to use it on him. Is this aggravated burglary? He has with him his 'WIFE'. Weapon of offence, imitation firearm, firearm or explosive. Now there's no argument this is an offensive weapon. Hello, I was out in a bar/club with my girlfriend and her friends, when a bloke she knows came over and said hello to her. She said hello back and then turned away because she doesn’t really like him (he's a bit of a trouble causer, particularly towards her family). Hi All Just a random question, i have a friend who works as a mechanic and does some driving professionally, today he has driven from our hometown, Kendal in the Lake District to London and is now on his way to Scunthorpe so far he has been driving around 11-12 hours and had a few short breaks. I had a chat to him and he told me he has a good few hours left to go before coming home, i asked him if it was legal to put in those kind of hours driving in one day and all he said was because his company's van isn't equipped with a Tachograph it doesn't matter how many hours you put in, i really don't know much about commercial driving laws so was just curious if he was right, …

Hi guys, Im new on here although have 'lurked' in the shadows for a while. Im a MOP but very supportive of the work you guys and girls do. Just wanted your views...I live in the country, basically in the middle of nowhere. The other night, my only neighbour (who lives about 100 metres from me) house alarm goes off. Its dark and she has 3 kids but her husband works late hours. The alarm goes off for a good 20 minutes and is ear splitting loud so I go over to see if she is ok (the good neighbour that I am!) OK I have to ask, its annoying me now. Where I live we have the standard Gatso speed cameras. Now about a metre infront of each one a new camera is popping up. Its all grey, looks like a big cctv camera on a grey pole, kind of like the gatso pole. Most face the same way as the gatso, I have seen some facing the other way. What are these exactly? Anyone know?

If there's already a thread for this, I tried finding it but I couldn't find it... If you're making enquiries relating to a person, such as a person check or investigating if an offence has been commited, what power, if any, do we have to stop people from leaving during those enquiries? I'm aware quite often the act of telling people not to go anywhere is enough... One reason which made me think about this was that on Police Interceptors on Channel 5 recently when they were making enquiries regarding two possible shoplifters, one of the cops said that they were detained... You are asked to attend an incident where a child aged 14yrs has been robbed by an unknown person, you arrive on scene and take details and look for the person responsible. It struck me that the 14yr old who had been robbed was very young and certainly not mature enough to be in charge of 2 other young kids. Are their any offences committed by the parent? I contacted the mother and asked her if she could pick up the kids and got a mouth full of abuse in reply.

Following a recent event that occurred to a friends daughter, I have a question I would like to put up for discussion if possible please. I have changed the names...... Becky (friends daughter) was socialising in a town pub with friends. An unprovoked attack befell her and she was hit with a bottle, inside the premises. The attackers were evicted by doormen from a door leading into a yard that joined the main throughfare, but then Becky was evicted after pleading with the doormen not to do so from the same door whilst the offenders were still in the yard. Yes I know that its trying to kill someone! There was a case in our local paper where a man had been carrying a knife, stabbed someone in the back and punctured his lung. The judge said that if it wasn't for the prompt action of the paramedics the man would have died. He was only convicted for wounding. How is this wounding and not attempted murder? There seems to be quite a few incidents where the wonders of modern medicine have saved someones' life, where 20 years ago they would have died. Yet their attackers are only being charged with wounding or GBH. Surely if someone intentionally injures someone in a way likely to kill them (not in self-defence) then that shoul…
