Hypothetical question that has crossed my mind. How many Policemen today dont bother making arrests anymore as its to much paperwork and Courts will let them off anyway.

O.K...Here's one for you guys (& girls)..... If you saw someone walking along the street carrying a crossbow,what would you do ?? Is there any law or rule being broken,please ?? I know that a licence is not required as per for a gun,but not sure if some other rule prevents carrying a crossbow. (This has been prompted by a discussion on another forum...)

Quick question. Lighting regulations state that no vehicle can be fitted with: 13.—(1) Save as provided in paragraph (2), no vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which automatically emits a flashing light. Now in regards to this, does this include lights where a switch is needed to activate them. For instance in the example of alternating headlights. They emit a standard steady light, unless a switch is activated. Would having a "flasher" be legal, or not, as a switch would be needed to activate them, and they wouldnt be automatic, or does automatic mean a constant on/off motion is not required by the user? That lamp wasnt fitted to automatically emit a flashing light.

Is there a difference between the 2? Statutes which includes all legislation ACTS and common law rights of all men & women . As far as I understand it all statute legislative Acts require the consent of the governed to give them the power of law. Discuss please.

A couple of months ago I switched from a diesel to a petrol and kept on over revving pulling out in first for first few days, and whilst coming out of a car park i ended up wheel spinning slightly and at the end of the car park was a police officer getting out of the car, so i slowed down and rollded down my window and apologized and explained the above, he sed he didn't believe my story and if he "caught" me again then he'd confiscate my car. Is this a legal offence and can he do this or is it a made up threat?

This probably seems like a basic question.... but what are the powers we have when it comes to people drinking on the streets ??? At the moment my colleagues and I will take alcohol off of anyone under 18, so that they don't cause hassle later when they are drunk.... What aspect of law covers this if any? What if you attempted to take alcohol off a 16 year old, but they refused to hand it over? do we have powers to physically take it off them? Also, if someone is over 18, walking down the street drinking a bottle of beer, with a bag full of beer bottles in the other hand, how would you deal with this? any feedback would be great, because I deal with this thing every…

hello there i am looking for some advice on an unpaid fine one of my friends. goe caught driving without the proper insurance and he got an on the spot 6 points and 200 pound fine that he was given a month to pay. unfortunatley he did not have the money to pay this as he was self employed and very quiet at work. now he has the money tp pay this fine but does not know what to do as it is two months late from what i gather it might have been put to the procurator fiscals office now and he does not want to go to the police office incase he gets arrested can anyone give some advice on what to tell him thanks

Can any one tell me exactly what the procedure is, when someone is stopped for a Ins/tax/MoT check,please ?? Exaple: Person is stopped because ANPR etc has indicated no insurance..... Person says that they've just bought the vehicle and it IS insured,taxed etc... Doesn't have the certificate with them. What is the officer supposed to check and who with ?? Male decides to drag his mrs out the bed punch her several times in the face causing bruises and a bust nose, and he stamps on her hand causing a possible break.. upon attending the scene an officer arrests for section 20 gbh? Can anyone explain how this is so?? I would of imagained that if the injuries fit within gbh and there is intent there...then section 18?
