i wonder if i could beg some advice on a job i went to last night. it came in as a damage to a dwelling with the alleged offender laid asleep on the bed at the scene. we arrive there and see that it is a multi-occupancy dwelling. each bedroom having its own lock with a communal downstairs door that is simply left open. the caller apparently leaves her home address at 9pm with her door intact. she arrives back at 0330 and sees her door broken. the person laying on the bed asleep is her drunk friend. upon investigating the situation we get 2 stories. firstly the caller (in drink but not excessively) tells us that she has known him for around two weeks and he has been …

Hi all, I'm a Special who works for a small company. We have discovered that nearly two years ago a contractor was overpaid by about 4000 pounds and I have found invoices to prove this. The contractor's usual payment was about 800 pounds a week; how this overpayment went undetected at the time is a mystery!! I have not yet spoken to him, having only found out today but I feel that he is unlikely to be cooperative and I need to have some "tools" with with to persuade him to comply. If someone is driving on an international driving licence and then apply for a licence in this country normally im to believe they are granted a provisional licence only until they pass the required test? If this is the case does the driver still need to show L plates and have someone supervising them when driving?

I recently lost my old child's passport (I recieved it when I was 10/11 and preparing for a trip to Florida) The passport eventually reached it's expiration date and i recieved an adult pass a few months ago (On the count of now being 18, my old pass being expired and use for ID on a holiday to Ireland) I'd been using my child's passport as proof of my name and age. If a police officer confiscates an item do they have to give you their collar number? I ask this because I found a very interesting video on Youtube showing a police officer confiscateing a sharp wooden stick from a guy outside New Scotland Yard! Was the guy crazy? And he had the cheek to ask for it back! Im surprised the officers showed restraint in not arresting him. Youtube video

I read in my local newspaper about someone who had been charged with this offence.I was told that the person charged had been caught urinating in public but from information ive found on the internet it seems a much more serious offence.What offences would warrant this charge of outraging the public decency.The piece in the paper mentioned twocounts of outraging the public decency,does this mean two offences on different dates or two offences all in one as it were?

From my (albeit limited) research there seems to be some ambiguity about what counts as being 'in charge' of a vehicle while drunk. Obviously putting the keys in the ignition or having them on your person could be construed as such, but some sources suggest that keeping them in the glove compartment would make it clear that there was no intent to drive. Others, that the keys must be outside of the vehicle. What guidelines do you follow when determining whether someone is drunk in charge of a motor vehicle? Tk, S. T.

Hello, I would like some advice from you for something that is giving me a headache. Over a year and a half ago I went out for a while with a person. We live in the same town and I still see him nearly every week. Since we split, everytime I see him in the street, he calls my name and he doesn't stop until I disappear. It may be silly but, after one year and a half, he is still acting like that only to make people laugh and for the attention. It may sound childish but it's really annoying me. Could anyone tell me at what point something becomes a civil matter. If for example an estate agent doesnt return a deposit, it is a civil matter right, proceed via CCJ etc However, what if this estate agent is doing this to ALL clients, would it become criminal and be pursued by the police. I know about going for the MOT if pre-booked etc, a friends wife's father (no really) wants to know, he says the car is road worthy condition. I pointed out that that's normally the point of the MOT. He want's to know if he arranges to scrap the vehicle with a yard, drives it straight there, is there any offence? Many thanks in advance, Damien
