Hello all, Is anyone able to clarify why it's common to arrest for both Section 4 and Section 5(a) of the Road Traffic Act after a suspect has provided a positive indication of cannabis/cocaine from the 5(a) swap? Would you additionally arrest for being unfit through drink or drugs so you charge for drugs found in the blood sample other than cocaine/cannabis? Thanks in advance!

I have a question about witness statements and retraction statements! Maybe however, it might not have anything to do with retraction statement I'm not sure. So for example, say there's an assault occasioning ABH, and victim says "he punched me in the face outside my home...oh no it was in the town centre" would the officer write that down exactly (best he could) or would he write the first part, delete it or erase it and just write down the second part i.e. he punched me in the face in the town centre? This might seem to officers as an easily dealt with thing, I'm just trying to think of possibilities, because I'm assuming this happens. - Liam S

Looking for some advice on extra light positions. Just got a new (to me) car and it doesn't have forward facing fog lights like my previous ones had, and they can occasionally come in useful. Reported NFH upstairs for weed smoking and harrassment , police came round werent really interested in the harrassment which i get as i had no proof but said will organise a raid on his flat since they smelt when they came in. This was 2 weeks ago, was he lying to me? how long does it take? i have constant dealers coming to my house. Truancy is something that I'm not particularly clued up on, and I've been spending some time researching it, as it's fairly common in the area I'm due to be stationed at. However, I've failed to find any specific laws relating to act of playing truant. Is anyone able to shed some light on the matter? I really feel like I'm missing something here.

Hi guys, my younger cousin has been given a S.59 warning and asked my opinion on it but I do not have enough experience and knowledge in this area. If you detain someone under s136, do you have power of search for items they may harm themselves with? If so, from where? Would s32 PACE be applicable because although they are not arrested, they are in "lawful custody"?
