Our local park has some bylaws currently enacted to prevent dogs from entering the ponds. What powers regarding demanding a name and address from owners do we have? It's not anti-social behaviour per se, so I'm a bit puzzled. First to answer correctly wins my (probably) undying admiration.

Hi there, first time posting so I hope it's in the right place...! My husband was arrested for common assault against myself in 2005 (he called them himself) Unfortunately it was the 4th time he had been arrested for the offence in as many weeks (!) he was consequentially convicted and given 2 years probation. He hadn't been in trouble before and hasn't been since as he received treatment for PTSD (not making any excuses!) I have been reading up on when his conviction will be 'spent' and can only find conflicting articles, some saying 5 years from date of conviction, some 5 years after the probation and some saying it will never be spent! What I would like to know i…

Advanced warning and daft question alarm…but its amazing what distractions your mind will conjure up when sat in traffic. Smart Cars that have detachable panels, which are often in various interchangeable company colours, logos or adverts etc…then how is this chameleon colour change reflected upon the logbook? And I’m aware that not all of these Dinky Cars have a different outfit for each day of the week, but those that do and are often used as a advert for the company that own them, then what of the registered colour…is it a case of “dependant upon which way the winds blowing, see attached tableâ€

Does anyone know if the ambulance and fire service have the equivalent of a vacinity polack? Saw one today and was just curious. A polack can be a right pain to deal with and I was curious to see if they had anything similar in procedure.

Am I going mad or was there an amendment to common law some years ago, as previously the amendment stated that Defendant had to be arrested within the first year from the date of death?? Can anyone recall it?

I remember something from an old biology exam, that personality characteristics can hop a generation, so babies can be more similar to a grand parent than one of their parents. Is this true ? Any idea why? Also, are you similar to your grandparents?

Hi all, just a quick question, i am a retained fire fighter and use my motorbike to get to the station which is half a mile away, there is a short cut across a grass area that has a foot path across it that will reduce the response time. it is about 20metres long but cuts directly into stations grounds, what are the laws regarding getting off and pushing it across? with engine on or off? many thanks

Hi, I have just had about 5 hours of training and note taking on Public Order Offences and would just like some help and guidance if possible to understand them all. I will write what my understanding is at the moment and my reasoning etc, if any of it is wrong then please let me know. Section 5, is for minor things, for example a man walking around with a t-shirt that says T.wat! It is section 5 because it may cause alarmed or be insulting to anyone that saw it, and wouldnt be section 4A because it was not aimed at anyone in particular. For this offence there doesnt need to be a victim. A police officer could see it and deal with it instantly without having to have a m…

Is there any exception to the for Doctors Cars on GREEN lights in the RTA? i.e. A rural doctor has been called to a patent having a hart attack in the next village. He lives 10 miles away, the nearest ambulance is 20 miles away. He decides to activate his GREEN lights on his private car and jump the red traffic light to get there as soon as possible. If caught, would he face prosectution? Would it be the same if it was an NHS Trusts marked Doctors car with blue lights?

On the way home from work today I was driving towards a pedestrian crossing, and as the traffic was heavy, but moving, 40 limit, a car was exiting a pub car park, but the cars weren't allowing him to exit the car park, and as the traffic slowed, I observed him getting out of his car, and pushing the button on the crossing so that the lights would go red, and he could turn across the traffic. Is there any offence for this, or is just an annoyance that we must bear? I know there was a chap who had a 1 man protest at the speed of cars in his village and would press the button as much as possible to cause inconvenience to drivers, but didn't hear any further news about him.

If a person decides to take another person to court for whatever reason, but for a civil matter as opposed to criminal. Is there a way to attain someones name and address if they refuse to give them? e.g. Continual tresspassing, but the person refuses to give details for the court matter to begin? As a police officer, if you tell someone its a 'civil matter' are you able to ensure the exchange of details? I ASSUME thats how civil cases work? Its not something iv had first hand experience with.
