When doing the Bleep test there is a chance that I may have to use my inhaler afterwards as it rattles in my throat when I run far or for a long time. Does anyone know if will this be allowed? If not, I wont bring it. Its not like I will die or anything. I just dont like wheezing like an old smoker.

From reading over many posts on this forum and others relating to the police force and police recruitment, it is clear that there are many areas of the application that encourage applicants to seek advice. For example I have read many posts regarding who to put on the family section (Do I put my girlfriend if we arent living together?) , Do I declare this incident, that parking ticket or that debt....you get the drift. That got me thinking. I'm suspecting that some parts of the application in particular are purposely designed to encourage applicants to divulge information about themselves rather than be told to do so. when i filled my form in i couldnt for the life of me remember the exact dates when i was sick, so i made them up a little bit (i knew which month it was but not dates)... Will they be able to properly check the dates that i was of and then reject me?? Thanx

Hiya Guys, Im still awaiting security clearence at mo (Been about 1.5 months so far) Im hoping to go to Orpington for my training after 5 weeks at Hendon. I like to know abit more about the following and if you have any other info it will be very gratefully received: :wink: 1) How long did you have to wait once receiving clearance to starting training at Hendon? 2) Anyone recently finished or currently in training at Orp thats been posted to Lewisham borough? (Im under the impression that they only train Croydon and Greenwich now?!) 3)How do they monitor your fitness as there are no gym facilities onsite? 4) I understand that the training is much more 50/50 now…

Hi Guys, Can maybe some of you clear this up for me? I've applied to West Yorkshire Police and put my current and previous employer down as references. Will WYP only ask for references from these 2 employers or will they go back 5 years and ask for references from all my employers during that time. I've rang recruitment and one person told me they do go back 5 years and another one said they don't. I'm just really confused now. The first job I had was 5 years ago and I was made redundant after the company went bust, 8 months after I joined them. Hi, I am currently thinking about what courses to apply for at University and am interested in something along the lines on Criminology, Law, Criminological Studies etc as I have a real fire in my belly to become a Police Woman. I am also on high belts in Ju Jitsu and Kickboxing, volunteer with the Red Cross and have done a short 1 wk Police Course. I think I would make a very good police officer BUT . . . Hi there, I am doing fitness test 2 weeks today but have done no exercise in last 2 months due to injury and have put on weight. Is the bleep test level 5.4 to pass and do you keep on going or do they stop you there ? Any ideas how long it takes to get to 5.4 ? Are the other push and pull tests difficult ? Also, I got my letter saying I had passed the Asses centre but it didn't tell me my score - has anybody else had this ? Alan
