I have my initial interview coming up for tayside police and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect from this portion of the selection process. I am fairly confident that i know what to expect from the A/C and beyond but I cant find any info on the initial interview. So, at the moment I am just working through a list of possible questions that I have got from other sources but I think they might be related more to the later interviews. any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello my Name is Rob, this is my first post, go easy on me Im currently applying for the Gwent Police Force and I was wondering will 3 points on my licence for speaking on a handheld mobile phone hinder my chances of getting into the Force as ive read another post about somebody being refused an application for a driving offence? Im currently a Retained Firefighter and ive bought this up on other Fire related forums and they say that it doesnt affect your application aslong as you bring it up in the application process, i hope this is the same for the Police Force. Thanks Robb

Hello, thought I'd start a little blogg type thing to keep a track of how things are moving along following my decision to join the Police Force. Have applied to Surrey Police in February 2007. Passed the Paper sift shortly thereafter and received an invite to the fitness test in March. Have had the Fitness Assessment in Guildford on April 17th 2007 - Passed. Have been invited to the Assessment Centre (Centrex) at Guildford Uni on the 7th June. So far so good, now getting nervous about the A/C. More soon. Litew8Litew82007-05-04 18:24:57

Hello, Firstly, apologies in advance is this is entirely inappropriate, but I am trying to get some idea of pay scales for a police officer in Northamptonshire. I will be 33 next year, and hope to have my mortgage paid off. Would also like to do something worthwhile (rather than IT). Was thinking that joining the police might be it. Can anyone advise on how much pay is likely to be upon joining? What about after two year? Five years? It is realistically too late to consider it at 33? I know it sounds incredibly mercenary to talk about money before even applying, but I still have a wife and two kids to support
