I've just booked to go to an In2Police prep course for my A/C, those who have been to these type of things, can you offer and advice as to whether or not you actually found it helpful? I'm going to go to it to try and give myself every chance but am not going in with my eyes shut thinking that just because i'm going to one, that means i'm going to pass the real deal but it would be nice to hear others opinions about these courses.

Has anyone had to get subject access clearance for a family member living abroad? My father lives in Spain and the recruitment office have told me that he needs to get proof of having no criminal record. Well if anyone knows how the Spanish legal system works then you will know that this is easier said than done. The security checks on the rest of my family in the UK are well under way and I've got a potential start date of 1st Sept this year but without my Dad's clearance then I won't be accepted. Really really need some help with this anyone......

Well this post is 100% not about that crimbo number 1 which the Osbornes got! It's about the initial first application form. It got me thinking the other day What if you leave the job which you put on 'current employment' section on the application form? Now my first thought would be to call up the recruitment team to notify them on the changes. Would this be the right thing to do in this situation. Anyway better get on with some work! DC

my younger son has applied to the police & as no record. But I am concerned that my elder son may have not paid the tax on his motor bike, or have a caution for possession of canabis. He has not mentioned this at home, but it could have occured when he was living at university in the last two years - whenever we discuss my son's application he looks guilty, are these likely to affect his brothers application? my son is waiting to hear about his security checks at present.

Okay, I know its a silly question and one that I think I already know the answer to, but I live with my brother so does that make him my "co-habitee"? Personally I don't think so. All the other options are 'husband/wife/partner/boyfriend......' so I don't think its actually asking me who I live with. Is it?? Got my Met Day 1 tomorrow and am just completing the final piece of the jigsaw. Cheers for your help!
