I am wondering if not stating what code was on my licence could i fail my application, I have gone through the whole process to be told at the very last minute that i have been unsuccesful after references, financial checks and vetting checks, my refs are ok ,finances ok no criminal record. I was advised to go through my application form with a fine tooth comb, the only thing i can think of is a speeding offence that happened in may 04 but not convicted until jul04 after going through the appeal process. the only thing is though the code that was put on was ms90 instead of sp30 which i have just found out is failure to supply information. Which is wrong as i went throu…

I want to join the Police in London and the City Police have just opened up their recuritment so Im thinking of applying for that force. I wanted to find out abit more about them but there doesnt seem to be a great deal of info on here or online (Even their own site isnt that informative). So if anyone knows much about them or works for them that would be great. Firstly do they get paid the same as the Met? The only info I could find was that you get London weighting ontop of the national salary but wasnt sure if you got the extra 4k like the Met do. I was also hoping somone would know if the work is as varied as the met or it is just the same sort of things day in …

Hello folks. I start my training at Strathclyde Police on the 18th May. I received my welcome pack last week. It notes the PE kit must be plain and white, Does this mean absolutly no sport names ie nike, addidas etc or just things like no football colours etc. Its nigh impossible to aquire plain white non sporty make clothes nowadays. I dont want to show up at training and look like the odd one out... Any advice welcome.

Hello - Was wondering whether someone can answer my question. What does the medical involve? Does it involve having to take any vaccines and is the recruits DNA and fingerprints taken on the same day? Many thanks

Hello, The application form asks for two references whom the applicant has known for 3 years. Naturally I was going to include my previous two places of work as references. However I worked for one company for 1 year 10 months and at my current company for around 1 year 9 months, although I am still working here. So, my old employer has known me for over 3 years, but I only worked there for 1 year 10 months. Can I include my current employer even though they have known me for less than 3 years? Can I use a personal reference like an old school teacher (family friend)? What kind of questions would they ask them? Technically this means I cannot include them even…

I just wanted to give a little bit of encouragement to those who are finding the recruitment process really tough after being knocked back. I today finally received an offer of appointment from West Yorkshire Police, I am still in total shock and disbelief! I have been trying to get into the police since 2001 and after 5 applications and 8 long years, I did it! I failed at just about every stage of the process and after thinking it wasn't meant to be, I decided to have just one more try and finally did it!! So, to all you ready to call it a day, I know exactly how you feel but if this is something you truly want, keep going and you will get that letter!! Good luck!!…

Hello I'm currently filling in the CRB check form just before my final interview. I casually asked my younger brother if he had any 'dealings' with the police in his past hoping he'd so no when he tells me that he got cautions for GBH, Possession and numerous driving offences. He said they were all when he was under 18 so at least 7 years ago. I'm gutted - will this affect my application? Thanks.
