Hey all, I just saw the strangest thing in a Lidl car park in Edinburgh. It was a Mitsubishi Outlander, unmarked with a light bar and sirens. As he was exiting the car park he activated his light bar and grille lights then as he approached the junction to the main road he activated his siren and sped off. I wish i'd got a photo as it just didn't look quite right! Anyone seen a similar vehicle or know of its uses? It wasn't on diplomatic plates and the occupants didn't look like emergency service workers (they were of a rather large build). It looked similar to this car but with the addition of a light bar. Regards

Saw this on twitter the other day, and was wondering what people reckon. (Mods, know it's a news story, but it seemed to fit better here- feel free to move as appropriate). Not so bothered about where they're made, more interested in whether they're fit for purpose. Only ones we use are the Vivaro vans, which are pretty decent tbf- the 15 plate one that my station got recently feels more purpose built rather than having EWE and radio just bolted into the cab. Can't pick up the link, London Evening Standard 1st Feb reporting on Met to get new range of alternate fuel vehicle - cars and motor cycles, including hydrogen fuel cell . The quote includes that they stopped buying diesels in 2015. Certainly a challenging future for policing fleets

I was looking at the price comparison for police kit online and noticed that North Wales police purchase cars that have a containment cell in the back of them, after loads of digging i managed to find a partial picture showing a divider between the front and the back of the car, akin to US cop cars. Has anyone used a car like this or have any experience regarding them as I have never come across them before.

Hey Guys, In terms of hatchbacks, in the civvy world, it's always been 'Golf v Focus v Astra'. However, I've never seen a Golf out as a panda car. The Focus and the Astra have always been the 'staple police car' of choice it would appear. So, why has the Golf never made it as a general policing vehicle? Has it every made it onto the streets in any force? and if so why did it never overcome the mighty Focus or Vectra? I've seen a couple of demonstrator Golfs on the internet, but never any fully operations ones and of course German cars have made their mark on more specialist units like traffic and their 330d Beamers for instance. So came across this today, and totally see myself getting one. Fully electric and well, just too cool! I was wondering if there would a practical place for it in the service as a fast response vehicle, the specs are quite impressive which are worth checking out below. So a little bit from Wikipedia on it: I reckon there is a lot of potential for this vehicle across both the police service and ambulance service, what do you guys reckon? Potential or just a gimmick?

There is a car outside my flat and it is there quite often. It has no licence plate on the front of the vehicle. Is it a police vehicle or is it something I should be worried about? Its worrying my family as we don't know if its drug dealers or not! Any answer would be helpful. And any suggestions on what we should do? Thanks Sent from my CUBOT P9 using Tapatalk
