Police Vehicles

Sorry if this has been posted before.......What are your views of the Vauxhall Astra as a patrol vehicle? Do you use estate or hatch? We use the estate diesel. Nice boot room, comfy motor, but not much power and handling is almost non existent.

May be a silly question... In some of the episodes of the Interceptors based in Lincs, on the X5 what is the large box on the roof? I've been trying to work out what it is and closest I could get was some sort if integrated ANPR and CCTV box...?

Just wondering if any forces had any vehicles dedicated for Specials use only? I know it can be a bit of a touchy area, with people complaining that area patrols haven't got enough cars so Specials shouldn't have their own...but discuss!

Is the segway actually being used by any Police Service in the UK? So, would you consider buying a ex-police vehicle? Considering many people of this forum know and have experienced many hours in police cars would you buy one yourself? The Traffic Patrol Orphans Gift Club which is totally non profit have an official website and also a Facebook page. Should anyone be interested in any Rat items! Run by Met Traffic officers in their spare time, the Club provides monetary gifts each year to the dependent children of Traffic officers who have died in the line of duty, from illness or who have become extensively disabled.
