More police officers in the U.K. will be behind the wheels of General Motors products after Vauxhall Motors Special Vehicles becomes the country's biggest supplier of low and intermediate police vehicles, winning contracts for six police regions. Contracts from a tender process initiated by the National Policing Improvement Agency mean 37 of the U.K.'s 52 police authorities will buy Vauxhall vehicles. This involves delivery of about 7,000 cars and vans over the next four years, including the Corsa, Astra, Insignia, Astravan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano. I received a Christmas card from the Special Escort Group this morning. I noticed on the front they have a Honda wrapped up as a present. Anyone know what model they are going to be using. I take it the BMW's will be phased out.

I've not yet found this topic (awaits a mod to send me a link and show me up... ) What's the best ever police car you've driving and why? There's officers from almost every force in the UK on this site....so I'll start... The unmarked 2007 ford focus hatchback, 1.6 petrol.. nippy with good handling and v easy to drive through rush hour.. it's not like steering a tank (aka the met psu's!)

Curious how does your force keep the vehicles looking good? Please explain how you yourself maintain your personal vehicles shine and lustre. I know how I keep my wrangler looking good,but I am curious how this is done in the UK... Please forego the obvious sarcastic comments we all love to read on here... I am looking for serious discussion on vehicle cleaning and polishing. Thanks MLEO
