Hiya, new girl on the site, bear with me. Haven't got a clue what most of the icons on here mean yet - it all seems rather confusing at the mo! I have two and a half years service on response in Hampshire, and worked for them as Staff for three years before joining the Dark Side. Looking for some moral support on here I think - I am unfortunately working on a shift who have a lot of in-house problems (mostly caused by PSD!), so it would be good to see that others have been there, done that, and walked away from it with little scarring..... Who knows. If not, then it's always good to knock heads with different people and talk nonsense off duty! Hello all.

Hi everyone Just a quick message to introduce myself. I'm a Student Officer serving in Suffolk and have been in the job for 13 months and I am really enjoying it. I usually live back in Lincolnshire but stay down in Suffolk when I'm on shift. Does anybody know anything about how easy it is to transfer after completing your probationary period and getting confirmed as I've been told that forces are not so keen on transferees now as training is all done within the local area it costs less than training a transferee on their policies etc? Cheers Dan

Hey all!! My friend just told me about this site, he is a PCSO in cheshire. I have just applied for a PCSO in Sussex Police. I got a letter back on saturday to say I have passed the application stage and was in the top 3% of applicants. I got 2 As and a B in the questions. Im really pleased but dont want to get my hopes up as I might muck up the interview . Im incredibly nervous already! Im not sure how long it will be until I get my interview date through, I know they are currently going through the vetting checks on family members. Could someone please tell me, in detail if you can, what the assessment day is like, as Ive heard different things. My brother is a P…

Hello all. despite posting once or twice already I thought I'd best introduce myself. I'm in the recruitment process for Dorset at the the moment and I've passed my paper sift and assessment centre. I've got medical and fitness in May and providing that's successful I've been given a start date of the 18th of August. ....so...very...close... so with a bit of luck I'll soon be asking some searching questions on how to survive in the topsy turvey world of modern policing. Cheers! -Dan

Hi, My names Mark and I'm 19, I've been skulking around the forums for a few month now, originally came and found some invaluable advice for my assessment center. Obviously something that was written there (probably all of it ) was good because I'm going for my medical with Northumbria Constabulary on the 18th of July. So yeah, thought I should just say hi to you all since you seem a great bunch! Mark.

Hi all, I am Rosie, I am 28, live in Scotland, and have just recently applied to a Scottish Force. My initial application has been accepted and I have my familiarisation evening later on in the month. I am also doing major research that will help me in anyway pass each step of the recruitment process. I hope to speak to all in forthcoming posts maybe!

Hello to everyone, thought I'd join and bring an element of cynicism to the proceedings.. I'm a beat cop with a midlands force soon transferring to a Scottish force if I can sell my house. Previous to the job I did 16 years in the army. Look forward to contributing where I can.

I am intrested in becoming a police officer, i have but two major problems, i hate confruntation, and i drool alot, what are my chances of getting in? I noticed by reading these forums, there are alot of wise Officers on here, and a person from HATO, he does not appear as wise bless him :whistle2: The Kenworthy gentleman does appear to have a good head on his shoulders. Soglet, EchoCharlie, A-Z LO, well bless them too. BTW isn`t IAN_C good at his work, i marvel at some of it.
