Hi I have just passed my Assesment Day for Northumbria Police. Woopee! I found this site through google befor my assesment day and it was agreat help to see the information which was on here and also that other people had the same worries. So I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU for all the help

Hi all Currently going through the recruitment process for the PSNI. Have been lurking for a while reading the posts and getting some good info. Assessment centre soon and getting really nervous. PSNI VERY VERY hard to get into, usually 8000+ applicants for 440 jobs ( and realistically only 220 jobs as still 50:50 policy in place - thanks Mr Patten!) So not expecting to get through this time but going to give it everything as this is what I've always wanted to do. Any hints tips and advice very much welcomed.

No, not the TV show, its simply me saying hello. Im 22, and live in Lancs and joining the Police Force is something I have wanted to do since being a kid. Its got to the stage now where Im trying to prepare my first application...I know how it all works and keep reading horror stories from people who cant get in or have failed time and time again...as this is all Ive ever wanted to do it has shook me up abit. Anyway, here I am, expect me to be a bit of a pest in the future, and to nag anyone with any experience for help with the application process. Thanks for reading

Just a quick one to say hi Just awaiting my references to come back...which seems to take ages (although has only been 2 weeks)...funny that it seems long, as the wait on the initial paper sift was far longer....suppose it is because I am so close now. Looking forward to Hendon for 6 weeks and hopefully then on to Borough (Hounslow/Heathrow with any luck) I am sure this was supposed to read a little more interesting, but I am very tired :) I am sure I will have loads of questions in the future, but for now I will hold my tongue.
