Hello Everyone, As title suggests I am currently work in the East region Highways Agency control room, and am planning to join Met pol, I am hoping as a Police Officer. Been with the HA since January, and for the most part have really enjoyed it, I just want to join the police. I am in no particualar hurry to leave, but I am aware that the Police is a long recruitment process so thought I would get the balls into motion now. Once I finished writing this I am going to make the initial call to the recruitment number to get a spaced booked at one of those open days. I have a million questions, but think I should read a few of the sticky topics before I re-ask or the typ…

Hello all, I am currently a student and it is a certainty that i want to become a police officer. I would like to go straight into a force when i finish my final year (which starts Sept and finishs Jul). I understand this will mean me trying to get in an assessment centre around Novemeber/October time. I am just a bit unsure what force to apply for (Herts or Met), i currently live in Herts and my partner has preminant work here. There is pro and cons for both forces, ultimately it comes down to the challenge of the Met as it covers London and the pay benfits although relative (commuting etc). I was thinking of maybe appying for Herts and if i am sucessful and been there …

Hi to all, am new to the site but have a burning question I need some help with. Have now been with the Ministry of Defence Police for two and a half years and have been fortunate enough to land at a station where you have nothing to do with gate security and do actually carry out police work. (Yes, I know thats hard for some of you to believe, but it's true, MDP do crime!!) Is there anyone out there who has made this switch and really regretted it, and obviously are there any people out there who have made the switch and only wish they had done so sooner??? Im seriously tempted at a transfer to the MET, have current qualification in three firearms and also have my resp…

Hi All Great forum for people applying to the police (unless you start reading the vetting horror stories in which case its utterly demoralising ) Im older than some others here and currently applying to the CNC, following the realisation that sometimes you have to go backwards for a little while to go forwards if you get what I mean.I'm at the initial stages having recently sent the application back but reasonably confident of scoring well having done one before. Im more worried about the vetting than any assessment centres or role plays - you can prepare for them.

Hey everyone! I'm 22 years old and from Scotland. I have applied to my local police force and I passed my Standard Entry Exams last week so now it is the agonising wait for the Disclosure to come through and for the assessment date to be set. I found these forums when looking for further information on the recruitment process. I want to be as prepared as possible for this next stage. I really want this and I want to be as good as I can be. Only a few of my family know about this and I can't run the risk that my boss finds out, hence the username :) I really look forward to talking with you and hearing your advice. Many thanks, CO.
