Well I have just graduated from University in July and have been waiting around for west yorkshire police to start recruiting, and last week they did so I applied and now play the waiting game, which seem to big part of the process going by peoples accounts. Im not to sure about passing the application stage as im fresh out of university, and had a hard time thinking of relevant situatons for the competencies as ive had little experience in dealing with the situations they asked me to describe, but I think I managed to pull together solid answers for them in …

Fistly, Hello All, I found this website via a google search whilst looking for some answers on meeting entrance criteria. Let me explain, and if anyone can advice/help it would be highly appericiated. In 1996 I was convicted of a DR10 offence and recieved a 12 month ban and fine. to this day im still gutted about the whole situation, I was found guilty after 4 appearences and a 6 month court stint, from alledged offence to conviction. I still feel bitter towards the justice system but only from my personal experienced point of view, and not as a whole. I ended up taking the rap for a so called 'friend' who never even bothered to turn up in court, Because it was my …

I've been on here for the last few months appreciating the helpful advice and thought it was time to introduce myself. I passed my Day 2 yesterday for the MET and am now getting ready for another wait for my checks/references to go through. Fingers crossed! As we've been encouraged to say hello...and say a bit here it is; I'm Ad. I've recently decided that I'd like to change my career from Biomedical Scientist even at this late-ish stage (42)! Lots of reasons really. I've been struggling a bit to grasp the info I need and part of it has been the answerphone message you get when calling the Met number off their web-site; but one thing I've noticed is the need to be patient with this process I'm just really keen to soak up any useful advice people feel like offering! Sorry for what must be repetition here, but if anyone can summarise what happens -ideally- I'd be very grateful. Cheers, Ad

Hey guys, been lurking on this forum a while but have decided to introduce myself, as I am now awaiting to hear the outcome of the papersift! I'm from London originally, but have been living in Bath the last few years as I have been at uni here. Will be moving back to the ends in a year regardless of what happens with my app, but sooner if I get into the Met! Called the Met update line the other day, they confirmed they received my app on 18/08, so I'm expecting to hear from them around the end of October. I think the guy on the phone said 8-10 weeks, is that a feasible timespan? Good to be here, you'll be seeing me post a lot from now on This forum has been invaluabl…
