Hello everyone, I just stumbled across the site as I was trying to help a friend who has an interview coming up for an undercover civilian squeaky beaky technician job ! :whistle2: The site looks great with many varied views on the job we are in I am a serving bobby on Roads policing in North Wales. 13 years in the job, 11 years in RAF prior, and 9 years left. I look forward to reading more on here and contributing somewhat. If anyone has tips for my mates interview (for South Wales) could you please help?... Thanks Alminera

I start my training for the specials in about 3 weeks time (if i pass the fitness and medical) And also have a regs app in as i know it takes forever to get in! Has anyone else been a special first and then gone on to join the regs?

Hi all, I'm Sam, currently looking into joining the police, live in Warwickshire so will be looking to apply when they open up there recruitment, or possibly move further away round Midlands. Finished Uni last year and was going into TV in London, but realised not for me, think breakup from partner and two spells in hospital (nothing that would prevent me from joining) this year have made me want a decent challenge. Currently reading Ian Hutchisons 'The Police Selection Process' going to the gym for fitness and brushing up on my maths, but if theres any other good books or things i can do please do message me Would love any info on Warwickshire Force Thanks

Hi, I am wondering to ask if any body here who has applied to Thames Valley Police and have been successful! I have passed the fitness test too a month ago but i have not heard for my medical! The recruitment department don't known any thing ,i called few times to occupational health and they never get back to me! Does any body know how long it takes before you get your medical date and ultimately your start date? I have applied in Feb/08, passed assesment in June, Fitness in July and no further information at all! Thanks

Hi all, No doubt many will get tired of reading intros, however being the sheep that I so often am I will introduce myself. I am 20 and studying Criminology in Scotland hoping to join either LBP as an ACDP student or Tayside without. Thats really about it other than I really hope one day to be able to serve either the residents of Tayside or Edinburgh as a Constable. All that is left to say is a hello and to all serving officers SC/PC etc have a safe one tonight

Hi all, I am interested in joining the Police. I have a 2:1 Sociology degree, and up until yesterday, I was planning on doing the a Law conversion course (Graduate Diploma in Law) so that I could eventually practice as a Soliciitor. Basically, I am unsure if I should continue with my original plan and become a Solicitor, or become a PC and eventually a Detective... I am 22 years of age, no job (as was planning on going back to Uni this coming September), and I am aware the recruitment process is long and drawn out, so I would have to get some crappy job in sales or something and perhaps be stuck in it for a yearr, or longer if I don't get pas tthe recruitment process. …

I've just filled out the application form (all the while listening to the charming drunks singing on the street) and will be posting it in the morning. I've got fingers and toes crossed! Is anyone about in Inverness that fancies meeting up for a pint and giving me the lowdown on what to expect? In the meantime there's plenty of info on this site for me to wade through! Slainté
