Hey there, just decided to register after mooching around here for a few weeks! Its a crackin site, really helpful! Im currently a PCSO in Greater Manchester working in Salford, but I start Student Officer training on the 13th Oct, quite anxious to get stuck in! Being only 20, I am a bit nervous, but Im hoping the experience Ive gained working in my current role will give me a decent grounding! We shall soon see!

Hi everyone, I have just applied to join North Wales Police and am just a bit worried about penalty points. I have applied to the force before, where I had 3 points on my licence, I was successful at application and assessment but unfortunately I had to withdraw my application for bereavement reasons. I have now applied again, and I have 6 points on my licence, will this effect my application? I look forward to any advice as I really hope this will not effect my application Many thanks

Good Evening. Have checked the forum out before but this is my first post. I found out I had passed the Cleveland Assessment Centre yesterday and am simply chuffed to bits. Terrified I will hash it up at the physical ! Forum seems great to hear from people in same boat and those that have gotten through and been there.

Hi All, First time poster and reader here. Applied to join City of London Police last October. Got pushed back to next years intake as they had too many successful applicants at the initial application stage. Did AC in April. Passed with 65% (have no idea if this is good, bad, average or irrelevant). I've a start date (pending medical and fitness) of next October. Long wait!

Hi everone, I just stumbled accross this forum on google and was very impressed with what I found! I am just about to submit an application to the Northumbria force (I am from York), it will be the second time I have applied, the first time was to Durham about 3 years ago (when I was 19), I never got invited to an interview and I think it was the competency questions that let me down, but hopefully this time I will get further as joining the police service has been my one real goal in life. Any advice would be great! Thanks for reading and hopefully this will be my first post of many on these forums! Jake

I'm a British citizen living in Poland at the moment, but thinking about coming back to the U.K. As there are many poles in the U.K. I was wondering if any of the police departments are looking for a polish/english translator. I can speek fluently in both languages, and I'm willing to help. If anyone knows anything about police departments seeking polish/english translators please let me know. I'll be thankfull.

Hi all! My name's Hayley, 19, and I've just applied to become a special in Sussex. Passed the paper sift and been presented with a PIR test date in October but need to make sure I can get time off. I completed my A Levels last year and have since been working in retail (extention of the old weekend job really) not knowing what to do next. I really, really do hate what I'm doing now and can't wait to get my teeth stuck into something challenging and rewarding. I spend a lot of time at the gym, don't drink or smoke and only really go out a few times a month with friends, so have quite a lot of spare time. I was talking to an officer a few days ago after giving a statem…
