Hi all, my name is Paul as you can see from my screen name. Not very ambitious granted but it mkas it easier for me as I frequent many different forums (fora?) mainly Volvo car clubs/sites. I am a Volvo technician currently working (only just)for a main dealer but have been offered a position within a Police authority as a tech which I have accepted. Cannot say much more as I have not resigned from my current position at the moment. Decided to do a bit of research on-line for the new job and came accross this site which looked interesting so have registered. May the force be with you. Paul.

Hi all. Been here about a month now but thought I would say a proper hello. I have applied to Hertfordshire so would like to make some friends who have done the same. Awaiting assessment centre at the moment. It's down for November the 8th so have a bit of a wait. I have found lots of good advice on here and lots of lovely people too! Thank god for forums like these. It makes you realise that there are literally hundreds of people going through exactly the same thing... About me: I am 30 (which is scary), female, and I live in Bedfordshire. I have two dogs whom I love to bits. I have wanted to be a copper for around 4 years so hoping to do this right! I'll speak to any…

Hi there I only found this website this morning, I never knew it existed! Could of really done with it from the start of my application...oh well, better late than never. I am currently applying for the Met, I have been in the recruitment process since Jan 5th. I have had my application form accepted, although it took some time due to the hacking of the Met recruitment website. Being greated by a picture of a monster when you want to check your application status is never a good thing (did anyone else see Officer Brobee on the home page of Met recruitment in February?) I received my assessment day date a few weeks ago. I am to be tested on Tues August 5th at Hendon an…

As suggested by the 'welcome new member' prompt i'd just like to say hi and introduce myself. I've only just found this site today following a search on google. Im 44, been divorced twice. 1 daughter and 1 brand new grand daughter who arrived this january. I have been a relief/response/beat (whatever the current term used is) officer for the past 21 years mainly because all I ever wanted to do in this job is drive the Area Car. For me, thats were all that action originated. Yep CID get the big villains.....normally after a helmet does the arrest......and dogs and Thames division were like waiting for dead mens shoes. The best part of being on a relief we…

Hello everyone, I've been a member for sometime, usually just absorbing loads of information off the forum.. However I decided to take a more active-ish part in it I am currently a PCSO with the Metropolitan Police, based in Lambeth I have however, recieved a date to start the IPLDP programme on the 08/09/08 with the Met, so it won't be long until I wear the white shirt! Hi there, I will keep it breif. I have had a bit of a miserable year with my dad dying at 53 and with me starting to feel a loss of worth and a loss of direction what with the politics of policing. I work with some great people on a great shift pattern, but have recently lost motivation and drive because ultimatley I feel most of the work I undertake (8 years of frontline policing) is pointless in the long term. I also had a glitch last year when I was told I couldn't apply for traffic because I wasn't working hard enough???? This was based on nothing substantial and unfortunatley for them I have my entire 8 years record of work (around 5 entries a day) on Excel along …
