My name's Paul, 26 years old and currently going through the process for GMP. Just discovered this forum, been browsing through the topics and already picked up some invaluable tips! Makes me feel a bit better knowing that there loads of us out there already willing to help each other. My application seems to be taking ages. Applied on 31st dec 07 and am now awaiting a date for the Assessmetn Centre. Been told it may not be till the end of the year!! I was only told that i'd passed and i noticed that a few people were given grades? Not to sure about that but at the moment i'm just at the stage of weary impatience. Can't wait to take part in the rest of the process but …

Hello all, I have been a Special with Essex Police for 15 months now and loving it! Just wandering how strict they are on colour blindness, i struggle with green and brown but only when they are next to each other

A little about myself, i am 31 and have wanted to join the police force since i was a nipper. when i was at school i had the attention span of a gold fish so did'nt really acheive much to write home about, so i never thought i would be brainy enough to be an officer. so i forgot about it for a few years but it kept coming back to me. Had applied late 2005 but dislocated a shoulder the week before my fitness test. So, here I am, a few metal screws, a few scars and a years rehab later finally going for it. hi all, my name is chris and im currently undergoing the recruitment process with Leicestershire. Had my 'assessment centre' on tuesday so im now waiting patiently for the results! Never really thought about there being a Police Forum on the web but i google'd it and hey presto! I am not a serving officer but have worked extensively with various forces on many operational and technical projects. I have joined here as I want to gauge reaction for a new product in development that I believe will significantly improve the safety of any officer currently using their personal mobile phone on the job. Mods - please let me know if this is appropriate or not for the forum. (I am happy not to mention and commercial names or direct links) just the concept. many thanks
