Good afternoon everybody. Finally thought it seemed rude to keep reading everybody's excellent posts and admiring cracking site without saying something. And I'm hoping this will stop that 'welcome, why not introduce yourself' taking all my screen up. Black Rat, I'd think you were a bit of a sadist if you weren't so obviously a great bloke. I won't be posting much because of fear of being thick compared to the knowledgeable and fun stuff from the likes of Black Rat, Ian C, James C, Kenworthy, and others too numerous to mention. But I will, no doubt be agreeing with lots of opinions and advice, and learning loads from you.

    Started by Safe Speed,

My partner created safespeed.org.uk the website which promotes the use of safe speed for all driving conditions and the use of trafpols, not the use of speed cameras as this is both furthering the rift between the Police and the Public, and more importantly killing people. I am every bit as passionate about driving and know that I am still and will always be learning. I proudly continue Paul's amazing Road Safety Campaign, as best as I can with the help of many many supporters. We have yet to have anyone prove anything stated on the website is wrong. I am an animation director with some 29yrs experience, and my 'claim to fame' is that I was on the team, as an animat…

Hello, found this site while bimbling around the internet. Retired now and was in the Met. Served lots of places including Mounted Branch (3 years), CO19 (lots of years) and Royalty Prot. (2 years). Most of those years were in the 'Gene Hunt style of policing' days. Happy days, mostly. To those still serving, stay safe and keep paying my pension.

Evening all, been reading the posts for the last few weeks, and decided its about time I posted! Just completed week 8 of the IPLDP course, and this week has been the best by far. Studying law is great, but this week has been the basic driving course - which was fantastic, and the Stinger trainig - so although im not actually on the streets yet, I have my Stinger authority. Like everyone onmy course, studying is essential, but were all eager to get out there and start to make a difference

Hi folks. My name is Stuart and i'm from Dumfries. I'm sitting my SET in a few weeks time and i'm all prepared but i'm a bit anxious too. I should pass the test no problem but i am dreading the presentation and roleplay excercises at the next stage. Any tips would be useful.

Hi Just joined the site and have found it extremely informative and useful. Having been an accountant for 10yrs+ and fast approaching 40 I have decided for a complete career change and have just applied to join Leicester police. A long way to go for this overweight and unfit mother of 2, but after purchasing a treadmill I am losing the excess and getting fitter every day. My husband has been in the job for 13 years so I know what I am letting myself in for (I think)!! It is something I have wanted to do for a long time and now the kids are nearly all grown up, I thought if I don't do it now I never will! Would love to hear from anyone else who has changed their car…
