Hi Everyone I'm thinking of joining the force but they have closed recruitment for police officers in West Mids, so I thought I would start as a Special. Does anyone know the recruitment process for a special, I mean, is it the same as the police officer fitness test etc? Thanks

Hi All, my name is Ady and I am about to start training with the Norfolk Police on the 27th May at HQ nr Norwich. Iam possibly one of the older, new recruits at the age of 42 (birthday today ), however, I am looking forward to joining up. I have mainly been involved in Hotel and Project management up until 3 years ago when I got sick of being made redundant and short contracts finishing. I then got myself a C+E licence and drove a lorry all over the UK for a couple of years. After that I did a bit more consultancy work but wondered if I could still be eligible to join up..... I live in Lincolnshire, however, I wanted to return to Norfolk as it was closer to the family …

Hi guys, Thought I'd better say hello. I joined the forum originally a while back as I was planning on moving back to the UK (I live in Denmark)and joining Strathclyde Police. Unfortunately though, changes to my family circumstances meant that moving back was out of the question, so I had to drop my plans. Instead, I'm training for military security duties with the Air Force reserves over here (lots of training scenarios, but not very exciting in real-life). Oh and for my civvy job I work for a brewery which shall remain nameless, but it's probably the best brewery in the World. Cheers T_T

Hello to everyone, I came across this forum this morning, and thought I'd sign up to be able to chat with everyone. I'm 21 and recently attended an event for the Metropolitan Police as I really want a career as a Police Officer. I now have my application form ready to post. I was wandering if anyone could give me any advice on the steps I'd need to take personally to help me in becoming an Officer that might help me if I am lucky enough to have my application accepted and an interview given. I've always wanted to become an Officer ever since I can remember, and any guidance at all would be greatly appreciated. I hope that you are all well! All the best, Michael …

Hi, I'm new to forum. I'm Andy, 28, currently a PC on Core Team in East London in the Met. Have been a PC for just over 7 years and have always been on Core Team bar a few attachments here and there. I am currently in the early stages of transferring up to Northumbria where my side of the family are from so fingers crossed that will all go through during the course of this year. Please feel free to drop me a PM if you can offer any help on the transfer front or work in Northumbria and feel you can give me some advice. Cheers Andy

Hey guys, Did a bit of Google searching and found this forum and thought I'd check in and say hi. I'm about to the Scottish equivalent of GCSE's (1 week and 3 days until the first exam) and I'm probably going to college afterwards. I've looked through some of the eligibility information and don't see any major problems. I've got an idea about where I'd like to be stationed or placed, a city I know quite well so I'd probably be looking for jobs in that area. So really I'm just wondering is there any websites you could recommend as I don't know if the ones I've looked at are updated, and what is it like being a Police Officer? The reason being a Police Officer appeals…

I would like to say hello to everyone - I found this forum and now cant stop reading the posts - its great. I am from Middlesbrough and I got my letter back last week from Cleveland Police telling me I have passed my application. I am now waiting on the A/C dates. I am excited and scared at the same time. It took me ages to pluck the courage to apply, but I have a serious question I would like to put to you all - I am 46 years old, I am a very fit person and I really have got a lot to offer the Police Service even though I am this age - AM I TOO OLD??? in members opinions??? Hello everybody, My names is Robin I'm a french secondary school student. I'm sixteen. I would like to be a french policeman cause I'm really enthralled by police forces. If I registered here, it's to work my english and discover difference between french and English police. Excuse my English, I'm not very good in english at school. If I make mistakes, you can correct me, this will, probably, help me to advance in english. Robin.
