Hello all, I've been a member for a couple of months now and have yet to make a post, so here is the first of (hopefully) many. For as long as I can remember I've been fascinated by police officers, cars, operations, equipment and not to mention the ins and outs of the law. Over the past year or so I've given serious consideration to a career in the force. I'm a second year civil engineering student at university and am looking to apply after graduation in 2009. The forum has been a huge help with making this important decision, reading all the questions and comments have given me a good insight. I have also visited my local station where I had a long cha…

Hello to all...I'm a currently serving PCSO in Suffolk. I'm one of those that fell just shy at the regular assessment (cough cough 59.4%) and got the PCSO job off the back of that result. Suffolk have (FINALLY) started recruiting again and I've stuck another application form in and like many others around here I'm just playing the waiting game. So tis' nice to meet you all and speak soon! BoredBoB

Greetings one & all, I'm in the middle of throwing together an application for Northumbria Police and did a quick Google search for a Police Forum - this is where I ended up. I guess I wanted the chance to speak with serving Officers and those going through what I am about to go through. I am sure there is a lot of good information to be had around these parts; I've not had much of a chance to look around yet. Hoping maybe for some tips too on how to do well at the interview too. But I guess I should really focus on the application being a success too. Little about me: I'm Alan and 30 & a bit with a long term girlfriend and seven month old child. I currently …

Just to let you know I've changed my user name from SøS to Søren, which is a name I use on a few other forums. It's one of my middle names and was also my father's and grandfather's name, hence the reason for the name. I'm on traffic (RPU) , 17 years in the job. Married 14 years with two girls 7 and 5 and a border terrier pup which we've had for one week!

Hello All, My name is Andy, I am 25 and currently work for the West Midlands Police as a PCSO. I have been trying to become a regular Police Officer since the age of 18. Yesterday I passed the Fitness Test for the West Midlands Police and now await a start date. It has taken me 7 years but I made it in the end. I am looking forward to my new career as a Police Officer, I feel that my 2 years as a PCSO has been a great experience for me and hope to progress my knowledge in my new role. I found this Forum by simply typing POLICE OFFICER into Google and must say that it is very good, interesting and useful for new officers like myself. I look forward to becoming an act…

I thought it was about time to introduce myself properly, as I have been here for a couple of weks now and made a few posts. Some of you may have already seen and replied to some. I have just waiting for my Met application pack, which I have been informed was sent out on Monday, so anytime soon. I am in my later 30's married for 16 years with two daughters aged 15 and 12. I hold a BEng Hons degree in Engineering and prior to my current role within the F1 industry I was a memeber of the RAF. The Police Service is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, it will be a bit of drop in wages but I am at the stage of its now or never so I'm going to put my applica…
