Hi to you all First off a big thanks to the site, I have only just registered (as you can see) but have been visiting the site for a little over a year now. The advice and guidance have proved useful as I have just completed my first week of training. The re-assurance provided by some of you guys in the Student Area is excellent, and has helped in the 2 years I have been waiting. A word of advice to all those waiting to begin - it is so worth the wait, be patient and once you have joi…

Hello All, I am a long-time reader and first-time poster ! My name is James and I currently work as an estate agent in Cumbria (yes. boooo!). I recently applied to Cumbria Constabulary after having spent a couple of years gaining life experience on the advice of serving officers. I enjoy sports such as downhill mountain biking and snowboarding and can be normally be found under the hood of my classic mini known as 'Red Robin'! Looking forward to speaking to you all. Cheers!

Hello everyone, my son starts full time Nursery in September and I have decided after 3 years of staying at home looking after him to attempt to join the Police, something which I have always wanted to do, just waiting for Kent police to start recruiting on the 14th of July and I'll request and send an application from off. I suppose the Met would be a batter choice as I live in London (almost on the border of Kent, and easy to get to) but I have been advised by a serving BTP officer that I would find it hard to get into the Met being a white male, I don't know how true this is though. He also advised going through the PCSO route and then going to full police but in all…

Hello all. Fairly fit and well and succesfully fighting off the results of murder attempt several years ago. It still seems like yesterday. Computer on-line, (pet) guard dog and re-entry into the world of motorcycling have made a great medicine. Worked for a workers newspaper for many years which included a few breathtaking and romantic visits to E.Europe working mainly amoung newly emerging 'democratic' trade unions in Hungary and Kosovo (mineworkers). Worked (contract) for U.S. Navy as translator cum-english teacher at U.S. Navy Exchange, Agnano S. Italy. Iv'e also lived in the U.S. for just over a year. My present interests are motorcycle theft in the U.K., and the eff…

I have got a date for my final interview with GMP at the end of this month. I had my assessment centre on 30th January 2008 so have been waiting a while. I know the next intakes are October 08, January 09 and March 09. Anyone else in my position? The whole process seems to take forever, does anyone think there is a chance I will make it for the October 08 start? Have just found this site on google, its great!
