Hi All, Just found this website - wow what a lot of info is held here eh!! I have my first assessment day on 22nd Nov, lookig forward to it. I'm 37, married with two kids so this is a pretty major step for me, scouring these forums is proving very useful. Hi I found this forum after a google on ACPO want to ban motorcycles. My wife and I have four motorcycles, 2 solos, and 2 sidecar outfits. (I fitted the sidecars myself.) I have been trying to put message in the thread here about banning motorcycles but apparently I can't do so until I post here. (Is Dick Brainstorm behind the banning motorcycles idea.) Hello my name is Lee I'm 21, and new to all of this. I'd like to apply as a police officer to the Devon police force, I've been back and forth about my career choices, and I definitely want to become a police officer, however I have no idea about the application and selection process, it seems so complicated from what I'm reading, but I hope to continue researching and make things more clear. I've just bought a book from amazon and will continue reading the forums so that I can prepare and have the best chance to suceed. Hi new to this! im 19 and im a qualified dental nurse. ive wanted to do something with the police force since i was little. i have now decided im v interested in applying to be a special constable for a number of reasons. any how any1 got any application help! its the situation bit im starting to confuse myself on. thanks!!!! xxxxxxx

Hi all! I've been watching for a while, but decided its finally time to sign up. A little about me: I'm 24, originally from Oldham (near Manchester) and left the Army a year ago after 4 years. I've applied to be a police officer with Thames Valley Police and have my medical at the end of November. If all goes well I'll hopefully start my training in Jan/Feb! (I cant wait! ) This site has been great! Especially at assessment time, etc. Not sure what HATO is yet, though... Anyway, cheers! Mike.

Hello all, I am looking for advice / guidance regarding day to day police operational health and safety provisions. At present I'm studying Safty and Risk Management at the University of Strathclyde, where one of the study elements within Workplace Psychology is 'Job design in police forces?'. This is the activity I'm currently developing "Discuss whether job design, in relation to health and safety issues, can be applied to police work in general or to any particular areas of their activities". If anyone can provide information on ergonomic issues within the force, for example: Stress inducers (threat of violence etc.) Noise Lighting Vibration Temperature etc. …

Hi everyone. I had applied to join the force as a PCSo in Norfolk, i have got an assessment test on Tuesday and i am so nervous. I have 2 sheets on Race & Diversity and Customer & Community. I am trying to learn them word for word and getting myself really stressed. Not sure exactly how or what they test you on. Can anyone help me please. ? I am giving up my job which i have been doing for 18 and a half years so i really want to pass this test. I also keep reading about scenarios and putting core compentancies into them, but what if you have never been in the situations ? i dont want to lie or make it up ? Thanks all and nice to meet you.
