Hello everyone, another new person here. I've just been having a look around though and I think I might be in the wrong place!! I am actually a retired police officer from the Met, but having registered I can't see an oldies area..... I am hoping to rejoin the police family with a job as a civvie in my home force and was hoping to get some interview tips or procedural changes so I can be on good form at my interview. Anyway I reckon I'll be told soon enough whether there are retired coppers on here or not so hello again..

Hello Everbody! Just a quick message to introduce myself and see if there's anyone on here that is at the same stage as me in the application process with Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. I've just been informed that my application was successfull and my background checks are happening now so fingers crossed I'll have my dates for the next stage soon. I'm 24 years old and I live with my fiancee in Devon. I was in the Royal Navy Submarine Service for six years and I left in late '07 with the hope of joining the police force as soon as possible (something I've always wanted to do). If there's anyone out there with any advice or guidance for the assessment or joining th…

Hello all, I am trying to clear up a query and I am looking for a little help. I am under the belief that if a person has been disqualified from driving, they are unable to hold insurance on a vehicle. I am trying to find the legislation to back this up but so far have been in vain. Can anybody shed some light on this? Many thanks Bluelights99

Hi guys and girls :) My name's Mark and I'm currently a 4th year graphic design student (yes....not really related!). Anyways, I decided about 2 years ago that I wanted to join the police once I had graduated and my time at Dundee Uni is quickly running out, so I plan on getting the ball rolling shortly and getting my first stage app sent off! I've looked into the whole process, but not really freshened up for a while now, so I think that'll be the next step. Despite the fact that I don't graduate til June, is it still (as I've been told) a good idea to apply now, seeing as it takes a long time, and that the process wouldn't really disrupt my uni work anyway? Or shoul…

Hi, my names Dan and I'm from South Wales. Im currently enrolled in year 1 of the 'Police Science' degree at Glamorgan university- this course is offered by about 2 universities in the country (Glamorgan and one in the South East who's name I've momentarily forgot ) Basically the same story as many, wanted to be an officer since knee hight and watch the news for police related news quite keenly. As well as being on the degree I have an application put in for South Wales Police specials. (Although their not recruiting till March '09) I have plenty of questions to ask and im sure I'll be here for years to come (I've been one of those 'phantom' guests that regularly vis…

Hey, I'm Louise from near Edinburgh. I'm hoping to start the application process for Lothian and Borders very soon. I have a heart condition called Atrial Fibrillation so need to visit my cardiologist first to hear his opinion on applying. I wanted to join the Police when I was 18 but was told by my friends auntie to get some life experience first - 6 years later I think I'm ready. Stuck in a boring office job as a manager at the moment and want out!! I hope to use this forum for useful information and guidance! Cheers Lou

Hi, I'm new on here so here goes. Has anyone noted the recent news article regarding the CNC Force ? Looks like this organisation will increase in size over the next year or so. They are currently recruiting and my application is in. I have 13 yrs in HO Force and 4 yrs away from retirement but not ready to hang up the cuffs just yet ! I used to be in the UKAEAC now the CNC and fom all accounts it has changed for the better. Is any one out there who is applying also ? Are the vacancies down south or up north ? Is there a relocation package ? Whatever....I am looking forward to this new venture so here's hoping I manage to join. Has anyone got any details regarding the …
