Having started on this site over 6 years ago i used it for all its resources to help me land my dream job.....this after starting as a junior in a shop and working my way to manager in 7 years...something i then got bored with and believed it was time to move on...Police it was! Having now served in the job for the last 5 years i am currently on a succession list to get into Roads Policing having successfully passed my interview and advanced driving course. I have a wife and 14 year old daughter despite being only 31 (yeh we started young). I grew up on a council estate so i like to think i am a good street bobby and never look down on anybody, in fact my biggest bug be…

Hi All, my name's Jonathon. I'm based in Lincolnshire, currently a Special but am in the finishing stages of my Regulars application. I'm not sure how soon I will be offered a post, given the current circumstances in many forces, but fingers crossed! This is a great, informative site, it's already proved helpful and hopefully will continue to do so!

Hello All, I am hoping to transfer from the Met to West Yorks as a PC. I am currently in a specialist role within the Met and hold a level one driving qualification. Does anyone have knowledge of whether or not driving qualifications remain valid etc? I am also hoping to transfer straight into a specialist role within firearms, any knowledge? Thanks

Hi, just joined after browsing for a while and found some very interesting topics and advice. I am not a member of the police just like to ensure I keep legal. I am young (well OK, middle aged ) and after holding a driving licence since 17 and 2 months, decided to go for my bike licence in August 2007 (CBT end Aug 2007 - DAS passed begining Nov 2007) and it is the best thing I have ever done, brought back a bit of enjoyment to life on the road. After talking to serving motorcycle Officers from Durham and Cleveland forces, I am about to do a Ridewell half day with Cleveland Police tomorrow (Wed) and a full day Bikewise with Durham Police on Fri and really looking forw…

Hi I'm a newbe, (can you tell) I am wanting to join the Police, it has been an ambition since I was Knee high to a grass hopper... My family background is Police so hence the burning ambition. I joined the Royal Navy and left after 5 years after meeting my Husband, who is a serving British Soldier. I have done the Children thing, and feel it is time to pursue this career I have longed to do. I do feel a bit rusty, but at a tender age of 32 I feel ready, willing and very able. So please be very Gentle with me, bearing in mind I am ex-forces so am able to take it all on the chin.... I am very stongley considering North Yorkshire Police as my chosen Force, as my Husband…

Just posting to say hello to everyone. I recieved my job offer letter this morning for the post of PCS&TO (which I'd verbally accepted last Monday anyway). I start my training on 30th March but even after I start I've been told its still conditional on the CTC being fine (I recieved and posted back the CTC form last Thursday). The CTC isn't a problem as far as I'm concerned, as I don't have and have never had any affiliations or associations etc and I'm not one to be co-erced! :boxing: LOL I'm 41 yrs old, married with two children and its my 17th wedding anniversary today. I last applied to MerPol about 22-23 yrs ago and got the old come back in 2 yrs with some lif…
