Hi all, I,m a brand new member looking to settle my nerves over my pending assessment centre for South Wales Police next week. I am so excited but fearful of information overload before the day. I have been told to relax but I feel that this could be the most important day I've had for a very long time. I will keep you up to date if you like and I look forward to the support I have seen you offer others. Glad to be here. cymrocop

Hi, I have the assessment centre test on Friday and wanted to know if the numeric tests are pretty much the same as in the wetshire pack? Reason being some I've looked at on-line are a lot harder! and you have to know long hand mathematics. If it's the same as the pack I'm not worried, if it's harder I need to practice! If anybody can help please let me know :-) THANKS Rachael

Hi All, i am reading this forum for some time now but only just recently decided to register. i feel like my Mid Life Crisis is somewhere around the corner and i know i need to change my job for something more fulfilling than just a warehouse team leader. so my first step towards becoming a police constable is to start changing my lifestyle for more active (shaping up, losing weight) , have something to do with local police force (i am applying for a voluntary job at sergeant's office in my town) and preparing myself for the big step - joining the police. i am a history teacher by profession but a team leader by (not the best) choice. i like watching movies and some …

Hi everyone, my name's Paul and I've just sent my on-line application form I worked hard on it - I'm half excited, half nervous. I hope I at least get to the next stage. Great site, I was told about it by an officer from the North Yorkshire force, thanks mate. I spoke to two officers from different forces and what came across the most was how much they enjoyed working as a police officers. What do people recommend as reading material for the next step?
