Hi Just thought I would say 'Hello'. I'm looking to apply for GMP this month so thought it was about time to become a member rather than simply browsing! Best of luck to anyone thinking of doing the same.

Hi All I’m Alastair M. Lyons and surprisingly I am British by birth and immigrated to the United States when I was 5 and became a US. Marshal after college. Well I’m retired now and I am interested in learning more about the British style of Policing. I am also a collector of Police items. I am looking for a someplace to purchase the PC numbers that were worn on the collars of the old 1940’s style of uniform worn in the city of London(Not the London Metropolitan Police) any help would be great.

Hi all. Just a quick note to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Chewiesdad, and I'm currently a graphic designer. I've got my AC next month, so hopefully a career change is not too far away! This is a great forum and a mine of useful information that has both put my mind at ease about my AC and terrified me in equal measure! Hope to get to know some of you better, and if anyone is off to Ryton on 01.04.09 - pm me for a chat about it! Cheers, ChewiesDad

Hi, I have allways been interested in the police but my dad has very old set beliefs so being a female I always took his approach - that I wouldn't get any respect in the police. However after an incedent with my car last year I have met several very nice female officers who have really opened my eyes and I now realise that it is a job which has changed alot and that I could happily see myself there. I am 18 and am just finishing my A-levels, I will most likley be taking a gap year in which, If I get through the Initial application process I will do my other tests etc while working and gaining experiance locally. I know that people have been turned down from the police …
