Hello Everyone, As a newbie to the forum I thought I would take a few minutes to introduce myself . Im 33, married and we have an 8 month old daughter. Hello everyone! I am slightly new to this forum. Actually joined in 2006 but then didn't come back! I am currently a Special Constable for two constabularies, with 2 years service. I have just submitted my application to the Met last week from attending the recruitment event at the hotel Ibis in Earls Court. No idea how long it will take to hear back. Fingers crossed! I will no doubt be on here everyday from now on.

Hi there, Just thought i'd intriduce myself, I'm Mark, and seriously considering joining the Met, I put my name down at a recruitment event in Trafalgar Square last week. Currently work as a chef/consultant in and around London. I was wondering if there are any newish recruits in the Met that live in or close by to Colchester and whether they could offer me some info on how they cope with the commute/shift patterns and how you're allocated the borough you work in, although any response from anybody would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Mark

Hey everyone, I have been looking at joining the Met Police for a while but couldn't actually get my hands on an application form. I finally managed to get a place on the Careers Presentation at the end of January and am just putting the finishing touches to my application this weekend before sending it off. From everything I have read so far it looks like it is going to be a long journey and if everything goes right it will be atleast September before i can start but am confident it will be worth it. I look forward to trying to tackle the wealth of information on here!!!! Rich

hey i was just wondering if,at the end of the day and all the headaches,is the job worth it?.After 6 years of soldiering in the british army i want to try something new and the police service seems really attractive with the similiarities with the uniform but offering more freedom,is there any ex-servicemen that made the jump to police officer wanting to give any advice to a wannabe? thanks
