I'm very new to this site and havnt got a clue what i'm doing!! I've just had my assessment centre results of 58% which are not good enough for the force I applied to...... does any force take lower results than 60%???

Hi everyone, I just registered and wanted to introduce myself. UK Police Officer with 7.5 years service as a regular Bobby and a total of 5 years as a Special before that. Currently NPT but may be going back to a response team soon. Did a bit of divisional traffic about 4 years ago, but it wasn't for me. Hello All My name is Darren I am looking for some info on how I go about joining essex police anyone know when there is a recruitment day or event for essex police. I am 33 year old ADI and looking to change direction and to fulfill an ambition of mine to join the police force. Idealy looking to move into traffic division or motorway police but know i will need to start at the begining. Hope you can help me in correct direction. Thanks for your time Darren

Hello all, I am eagerly awaiting a letter from Gloucestershire Constabulary that confirms success and a start date... I have had an interview and a medical, and was told both were successful. but I have been waiting for months now for references, and security checks etc. I have rang and have been told its all progressing normally, but I am still really anxious!! Is there anybody from the Gloucestershire Constabulary on the forum? I would love to have a natter about what to expect etc... Heres hoping I start sooner rather than later, anyone who has any info is welcome to fill me in also! Many Thanks, Dan

Hello everyone, Been browsing for a few weeks now but thought as i'd started posting recently i'd introduce myself. I'm Chris, 23, from all over the place currently living in Bristol. Just finished a masters degree in International Relations and now in the early stages of applying for the Met (awaiting papersift decision). I work in security part time, doing retail jobs and doors in order to keep some money coming in while waiting for the process to continue. Well, thats me, happy posting!

Hello fellow police. I am from Sydney Australia. I've been in the NSW Police Force for about 17 years and getting itchy feet so to speak! Looking about for 'greener' pastures or at least a change of scenery and have been told that UK police is an option. Is it hard to get in? Would my service here be counted at all for anything? Is the pay ok? Are you all busy as one-armed paperboys? Cheers.

Hi guys 'n' gals, Just joined today after finding this site following an internet search for something else. I'm not in the Service (Force?) although did try a few years ago. I decided against it and chose a different career path. I am very much pro-police and find you have an extremely difficult job to do. I thought it would be an interesting site to join - maybe I have too much time on my hands?? :whistle2: james

I joined here a while back but a bit cautious of posting but then thought it was pointless being a member and just reading and not offering anything back. For many years I was interested in joining the police force and even got the application forms but then worried that something in my family past would be raised and this would put a stop to any recruitment. Can I add this major hic cup was not anything to do with me but a family member. So rather then face rejection I chickened out and regret it now. Still very interested in how things are done though.
