Hey all, Just thought I'd say hi to everyone, I joined the forums back in '06 when I was first considering joining the force, but unfortunately circumstances forced me to get as far as the "receiving the app form in the post" stage. Now's the time for me, I'm not getting any younger and my hate for my existing industry is getting greater by the day. I NEED the job I've always wanted and I'm 100% sure I'll enjoy it too (doesn't everyone crave that "I want to enjoy going to work" feeling? LoL). So.... I'm going to be throwing myself in at the deep end and applying for Cheshire Constabulary which I'm aware is one of the harder forces to be accepted by. A lad I know has …

Hi. I'm dth. I'm a bit of a forum junkie for the purposes of ensuring that I'm up to date with current law and practices as far as my ADI work is concerned. I'm ex-job from many years ago and have come nearly full circle in terms of now being a highly qualified ADI dealing mainly with fleet training, speed awareness courses, driver improvement courses and anything else that my licence enables me to get involved with. I'm an examiner for advanced tests including RoSPA and DIAmond and work with police through the aforementioned scemes and with ASB units. I'm just looking for reliable information from the guys and girls currently involved in law enforcement on the groun…

Hi, so my first post... Well I'm 21, male, and from Scotland. I have passed my initial entrance Tests and now looking forward to my interview in early February. I have no experience and very little knowledge of policing so here is hoping I can gain invaluable knowledge on this site from you. I am an ex joiner by trade, But unfortunately with this economic downfall I can't find a job!! So I hope I can get into the police which was an ambition many years ago, running around the house as a kid arresting people and the likes. What else can I add, I ideally would like to move towards traffic police eventually, I find I could cope with the parts of this job, but t…

Hello there I'm Adam, I'm 24 and from Essex. I applied to join the Met as a regular PC back in May when I attended an open day at the Camden Centre. Passed my stage 1 (24/10/08 at Hendon) and am waiting on a date for medical/physical - have been advised this should be the first week of December. Didnt think I'd passed the PIRT (got 64%) so am well pleased, albeit I know this doesn't mean I'm in for sure yet. Hopng that if the medical goes well and I achieve high in the physical then I'm more or less in - time will tell! Good luck to any other applicants. Feel free to post any views or experiences. Adam
