Hi all! I've just turned 21, and for the past 3 years I've been considering joining up as a Special. I found this site and wanted to get as much information about the application and training processes as possible, and try and get as much of an insight to the world of policing as I can, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay here :) Cheers all

Hi all, My name's Stuart, and I've been in the forum for a while but haven't really posted anything. I've been in the recruitment process since Dec 08 when I applied to Lincolnshire police, then after all the tests it came to get a start date and a year later I was nowhere. I transferred my application to Notts a couple of months ago and had to do everything except the Assessment Centre again, but they've been great and I have a start date of May 26th. Induction day on May 14th and Uniform fitting on the 15th. Really looking forward to it, can't wait to get started and having a hard time lasting out the last 10 days I have to spend in the office at my current job…

Hey everybody, how are you? My name is Steve and I am an officer in the great state of Texas in the USA. I have been an officer for about 1.5 years, and I love it. Though it is going to get pretty hot this summer, Texas is a great place to work. I also want to say thanks to my fellow officers from around the world, and you guys stay safe!

Hi everyone, Im Ben and I am 20 years old. Last year I applied to become a PCSO in warwickshire and failed at the role play stage as I certainly was not expecting the changing scenario. I was thinking about doing the into the blue courses that are available. Would anyone recommend this? I asked for feedback but the staff in warwickshire havent replied despite numerous emails. At the moment Im just trying to gain some life experience so I am going on a tour to Afghanistan with the TA in august and hoping to apply as a constable in Northamptonshire whilst I am away. So yeah, thats me. If anyone would like to share any experiences with the into the blue courses or similar, I…

Howdoo? I'm me, Misery Guts. Born in Glasgow, living in Dorset. Applied for Dorset last November, passed paper sift then A/C in April, passed that but STILL Dorset decided they wanted less new Officers than previously thought , so I've transferred the whole kit n caboodle to the Met..... I like ropey old cars, Les Paul's and cats...... I dont like self rightious numpty's or tree hugging extreme lefties, you know, the ones that are always right??? Anyways, there it is..... Looking forward to spending some time on the site, and hopefully getting to know a few people whose paths I may cross in the future......

Just a quick hello for the moment. I've never applied to join the police but it's been something that I've considered seriously before. Recent events have got me thinking about it very seriously just now so I'm doing a bit of proper research. I live in Peterborough, Cambs but it would appear that few (or none) of the nearby forces are recruiting. I've got quite an attachment to Scotland so it's reassuring that the forces north of the border seem to be recruiting. Is there any particular reason why someone shouldn't be considered appropriate for a force that's a good distance from where they've lived? My intention would, of course, be to move to Scotland should I apply …

Hi there, My name is Matt and I live on the outskirts of Edinburgh. I have just completed 22 years service in the Armed Forces and will soon be applying for L & B Police Force. I am looking forward to starting the application process and hopefully I will get some good pointers and tips from some of you members with lots of experience on this matter. Good luck to all of you who have already started this process and all the best to those who have dates for Tulliallan 09. Kind Regards Matt.

Hi folks, thought I'd better introduce myself: I've worked in a major Scottish force (I would say 'the' major Scottish force, but the weegies will start greeting), for several years (I'm far to sensitive to give my age/service away) having transferred from another Scottish force around 7 years ago. Been plainys for the last few years, and enjoying that, but am a wooley at heart:-) Oh, and I hate road traffic (nothing like alienating a large chunk at the beginning!). Anyway, looking forward to posting, cheers.

Hello all I am new to this site and have come to the decision that I wish to try and pursue a career in the Police force. Anyone got tips on where to look for jobs, how often do jobs come up? Thanks Charlie
