Hi Guys! First post but have been on as a guest a few times. Just about to embark on a fitness blast over the next 6-8 weeks to get my level up to LBP test condition. The recruitment advisor told me not to submit my form until i have reached an appropriate level. I’m 6ft 5 and am carrying a bit *cough* more weight than i should be. There’s no way I could pass the run in my current state so am hitting the gym and a changing the diet to rectify this. To be honest, i am a bit worried about the run and how long it might actually take for me to get up to that level of fitness. If i need to be at 100%, i would predict im at about 10%. I’ve heard that as a big guy…

Hello everyone, Thought I would stop by and introduce myself. I am currently waiting for my pre interview and written assessment which is on the 14th of May. Have been pretty lucky thus far at the speed of my application for Bedfordshire Police. Off to London this Sunday to do the Talking Police course, which I’m hoping will stand me in good steed. Looking forward to using this site for a long time to come, it’s fantastic so far. Well that’s me, look forward to speaking to you all. Regards Michael

Been a school teacher up until now, always wanted to join, however having two boys felt they needed Mum at home until they could fend for themselves!! Sent my application in October 07, so when I start in September my application process would have took 23months!!! I'm looking for any tips or pearls of wisdom anyone can offer to help me to prepare for and during the first few weeks of training. I am used to being at the front of the class and feel a bit daunted about being a pupil again!!! Have no clue where I'll be doing my training yet, had…

I thought I'd make a post along these lines, given they seem to be quite popular lately and I never got around to making one before, during the entire G20 escapade we had together... I'm here because I'm very interested in the attitudes of police officers and I want to find out more about how the police operates as well as having a few (reasoned) arguments along the way. I'm American, but I left the US in '88 - after flitting about different places, I've settled in London now and I've been here for quite a few years now. I work and study part-time, specialising in the security apparatus of Arab states (which partly explains my interest in the opinions of police officers)…

Hi all! Dave, 40 , Strathclyde Police. Noob to this site, but not to the police. 40 years of age, 11 years service, 10 with Central Scotland, moved over to Strathclyde 6 months ago.... should have done it sooner, but things happen in the police that transfer your focus to sumit else every now and then! Married, two kids, two cars, standard "nuclear" family for those who understand the terminology. Cheers for now, Dave!

Hello everyone, I'm currently completing my application form to apply to the Grampian police force. I graduated from University last year and after working in IT for just under a year I'm thinking that an office job probably isn't for me; hence my application. I thought I would sign up here to read stories from other applicants and get any support that you guys are willing to offer throughout the application process. Looking forward to speaking to you all! Chris

Hey guys and gals, I've just recently applied for the Met - my forearm was so numb by the time I'd filled out the whole application form, nightmare. I'm (nearly) fresh out of uni, where I've been studying Sociology - (I'm not a communist I promise ^^) and have almost finished my dissertation, which coincidentally is a study of a team of Met officers - great fun! So, anyway, that's my two cents...

Hi, Just here as an interested participant. More out of morbid curiosity and sense of self preservation than anything else. Keen to try and comprehend the psyche of the modern day policy enforcers. Struggling with this in normal spheres, so have decided to come to the lion's den. Peace and respect.

Hi fellow humans and persons, I am new to this forum and I wish to find a network here of police men and women who uphold the common law. Let me start with who I am, I am freeman on the land as agent for my person and I like to walk the streets and educate people of the difference between a statute and Law, Legal and Lawfull. Is there a group here that are in this same position?
