Basically I started a sports club, we've got a steady membership and it's free at present, but..... with a few ideas in mind we may be affiliating with a national sports body... (offers us benefits) so... I want to keep subs down, say it's £100 a year to affiliate, and there was 10 regulars. I would like to charge £10, then if next year 20 regulars it would go to £5. trying to think of a way to keep it fair and run at cost only, any ideas? or say in the first year it cost us all £10 then we could charge new members £10 too, but then we would have excess money and we don't really have any overheads. im a little stuck on how to run it! any ideas from an independent sou…

I wasn't really sure where to post this - Real World seemed a bit OTT, but I'd like to try and keep this to a reasonably sensible thread if at all possible! Whenever there's a high profile court case going on, we often see photographers blindly shooting through the blacked out windows of a prisoner transport van as it enters or leaves court. Now, I'm well aware that photographers take photos of celebs and such like through clear car windows, but I don't ever recall seeing a photo that's been taken through the van windows, as per the photo above. Following a discussion on a work mailing list about doing stupid things with electricity, I thought I'd raise the question: What's the stupidest thing you've ever done? My entry from 20+ years ago: We had a set of xmas tree lights that had, at the end, an illuminated star to sit atop the tree. This set died (too many dead bulbs and we couldn’t find any replacements) so a new set was purchased. This new set didn’t have a star. This saddened me. In a stroke of genius, I thought I would take the star from the old set and add it to the new set. To do so, I cut one of the bulbs out of the new set’s circuit and replaced it with the star. Does anybody remember the lock up that was on bbc following a humberside custody suite, i remember watching so many of the episodes but not them all , ive searched all over and cant find the episodes anywhere, just wondering if anybody knows of where i can watch them or has some sort of copy of the series?
