You know - that thing I am voting for or against on May 5th. Can anyone explain it? I was watching something with Rik Mayall the other day which attempted to explain it. It occurred to me that I haven't really a clue what it is all about and I feel so jaded by everything at the moment that I have little interest. But it also occurred to me that with a 33% turn out in my local area at the general election, there is likely to be an even smaller turn out if people don't understand what they are supposed to be voting for and subsequently we will end up with some strange system of electing our government. I've just recalled an episode of a US show I part watched that I want to track down, and where better to turn to for help finding a US TV then here? It was about the FBI, I think in New York* I think I saw the opening episode which gave the back story of one character as a female trainee motivated to join after her husband was killed on 9/11, she failed her swimming test... Another scene had a family driving on the way to drop the wife off at the FBI when there is a road rage incident and the female FBI agent drags a man out of his car and arrests him while her kids shout "nanananana supermom!" I have just seen another report about the female bomb disposal officer who was killed in the last couple of days,and what makes me bloody angry is the money the soldiers earn,compared with the money that people like Rooney and Gerrard are paid (they don't in my opinion earn it).When was the last time they or any other of their ilk saved lives,something is wrong somewhere isn't it
