This question is more for the existing Specials........ Do, or have, any of you guys had the chance to go on any courses? What kind of options are available? I was just curious to see if SP are keen on developing new skills within the Specials and would encourage you attend any additional training,if available?.

This has been annoying me for a couple of days now! Do any of you guys know the name of the famous athelete who joined Strathclyde a few years ago? A friend asked me and I can`t seem to find out about this anywhere. It`s not majorly important but it`s one of those questions that keeps going around in the back of your head!!

I've just noticed that theres been a change on the Strathclyde Police website. A couple of weeks ago under the recruitment section it stated that, strathclyde are actively recruiting and that there will be 9 intakes this year, however this information is no longer on there and has been removed. Maybe there has been a change in terms of recruitment? Has anyone spoke to recruitment and is there any news? Im currently waiting for SET dates, been nearly 2 months. Any information would be grateful.

Is this the only specials forum for Strathclyde police? I was at a drug test at Jackton the other day for the specials and was told about a specials forum and some of the other candidates were saying that there was a forum where people were talking about the drug tests that they had went through the previous day. I cant find this thread so im thinking there may be another one? or if someone could direct me in the right direction then that would be ace...thank you! Special04, x

In an attempt to save this topic I have decided to make this the place to post videos made by Strathclyde Police to support their campaigns and adverts and to discuss any medium Strathclyde Police use to raise awareness and educate people. Hi, just wondering how folks who have become specials in Orkney had done so. After reading the Northern Constabulary website it looks like you'd have to stay in Inverness to do the training etc. How do folks manage with the expenses and distances etc. Thanks in advance

Hello all I was wondering if anyone knows how many people we can invite to our oath of office parade? Everyone in my family wants to come and see me. (and my fellow trainees of course) cheers in advance Al.

Hi Guys! Just waiting on a date for my assessment day-do you have any tips/hints? If anybody has been through recently and could let me know the structure of the day it would be a great help! Cheers!

Security staff at 15 pubs and clubs in Glasgow are to be issued with body-worn security cameras in a bid to reduce alcohol-related violence. Full article: http://www.bbc.co.uk...w-west-12017862 I rekon this is good news, what are you're views? Will it work? What are your expereinces with door staff in the city? Edit: Just to add, the word Bouncer is used by the BBC, I dislike the title greatly.
