HI Got my date for the SET'S witch is the 19th of this month and am completely uprepared. Wasn't expecting to get an invite to this as I only sent the app as a sort of tester for any future applications if you know what I mean. Any way what I'd like to know if what is the cut of point for the re-sit as if I fail and get a re-sit date I would have a little more time to prepare. Also if anyone knows of any tutors in and around central glasgow who might have some experience in preparing people for this it would be a big help. It's going to be one stressful month as I have this on the monday my driving test on the tuesday and then a court appearance on the wednesday lol.

Hey guys, just looking for a bit of info on strathclydes current color vision policy. I have a minor red/green deficiency and was expecting to take the farnsworth D15 test at my medical which I can pass as per the eyesight standards download on the strathclyde recruitment site. However I have been told they are using the ishihara test plates instead which I am unable to pass. Does anyone know whether strathclyde still has a stricter color vision test than in the home office guidelines or am I at least able to request the farnsworth test?

Submitted my application around 3 weeks ago but am yet to hear anything. Does initial contact come by post or email do you know? I'm keeping an active watch on my post and inbox but nothing so far. I'm guessing they wait until they have enough applications to justify setting a date for another round of SETs? I feel like I'm quite late to this round, only realised the application window was open again about a month ago :)

Hi, I have just been given my letter telling me that I have my initial interview for Strathclyde Specials next Wednesday! I am so scared and I have no idea what they are going to ask me! I have been reading stuff on the internet but I was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable website or other resource that I could have a look at. I have been on here and know that people said I should remember all the strands of diversity so that's one good thing at least! Also any other tips or useful information would be much appreciated! Thank you Chloe

Hi Everyone I failed my fitness yesterday, dont know by how much, they just pulled about 10 of us out at the end to tell us we were unsuccessful and sent us home straight away, feeling absolutely gutted and low as I have to wait 12 months before I can apply again, so let this be a warning to anyone to their fitness. I was doing it within my time at home, dont know if it was just nerves or because I was starving by the time I did the run lol as I couldnt eat that morning and because of all the waiting around etc it was close to 2pm before I did the run (I was there for 0830hrs), no excuses though, simple as I F*@%*d up on the day. What they did say though is they would …

Driving to Jackton looking at how good the weather was knowing it would definitely be the mile and a half run as the bleep test is generally only used in adverse weather conditions. No! Apparently someone else was using part of the carpark for some exercise. Bleep test it was. In saying that it wasn't as bad a I had thought (having not actually ever done one - I know I should have prepared for it). Found it fairly straight forward and was over very quickly. So anyone else who is worried about it, don't despair.
