I recently failed my initial interview in November for Strathclyde Police Force so instead of waiting about for a year I have decided to join the Special Constables, improve myself as a person so that when I apply again I have shown I have tried to better myself. My referees and manager in work has recently filled out and sent information back that was requested about me, I believe if all goes well the next stage is a interview. Just so I am ready for it I was wondering if anyone could give me some help on what happens in the interview. I was just wondering if it is the same as the initial interview? It is just so I know the right areas to study. Thank you in advance.

Hi all Am I right in thinking if I am re-applying for the regulars having passed the SET previously I won't be required to sit it again? Had a good look round the web but can't find a definitive answer for Strathclyde specifically. Thanks!

Hi all I have got my SET at the end of january, i am doing a lot of revision and trying the practise papers on the Strathclyde recruitment page. But i cant seem to find anywhere what the pass marks for the 3 exams are, so thought i would ask. Also whats it like working as a constable in Scotland either as a PC or SC? Im a serving SC from Kent and life is always busy and good fun. Is there much difference in the way of law? Cheers Chris

Hi guy I was in the March 09 mintake and still have not claimed any expenses for the training or for any of my shifts, i asked my srg but he said he has no idea what i can claim and how much, just that i can do it on scope!!! Can anyone help about what we where allowed to claim for so i can give it a shot putting them through in scope, no doubt they won't be happy they are this late! Thanks Ash

Can someone tell me when the 2010 intakes are scheduled for Strathclyde Police. Thanks

Thought I'd share these videos, as that is the most police cars/vans I've ever seen in one place. Just shows you what Strathclyde has to deal with on a yearly basis compared to other forces (except perhaps the PSNI). I liked also in the last video how you see the Roads Policing Unit, Dogs Unit, Armed Response and divisional officers working together. Just as well we have students in these flats to take these! Enjoy! 1. Police arriving - ground level 2. 3. 4. Stand off (10 minutes long) It sounds like somebody forgot to turn off their siren when they arrived! Thats the only annoying bit! :D --- Andrew.

Application was sent away about 4/5 weeks ago, how long does it take to be a member and get your card? Signed up for the lotto aswell, this any good? Anybody won anything worth while?

Happy new Year to you all. I have to admit that I don't particularly have one yet although I'd really like to enhance my already impressive God-like frame and make gym-going a more regular occurrence than it currently is..Doughs, where are you big guy? So what is your New Year's resolution for 2010 and do you expect to stick to it? Martin :D

Hi, Ive got my Initial interview coming up this month and i think im almost covered. I know what the modules are but about a year ago i could find more information on these modules but for the life of me and aimless searching on the site i cant find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated,or maybe they dont go into much detail about the modules, just what they are. Feels like so long ago i can hardly remember. Cheers Jen

That time again, L&B are now accepting applications for the Specials! So, if you have been thinking about it...now is the time to do it. I am led to believe that this course is already filling up - so get the applications in...

Just wondering if anyone else is attending the initial fitness test on 12/01/2010? I am a re-applicant, I previously got to Initial Interview stage 2 years ago so thought I'd give this whole process another go.

:D :D After a decade of policing the streets of Lanarkshire, I have decided to call it a day. I have had some fantastic experiences over the years and I will miss it but know I have made the right decision. I wish you all the best and remember to stay safe out there. Thanks, Big Yin
