Hey all ! Was just wondering if any of you's had heard back from vetting?! I had my initial interview on the 8th November, and I've heard of at least one person who had theirs on that day too, and have gotten their date through for their final interview! I know vetting can take up to 8 weeks, but the waiting is a killer even although it's still a bit early to be worrying I suppose !!! Cherrypie

Found this in L&B forum http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index....howtopic=100812 So is it similar, just I read another thread on here that people were talking about their handsets and it was conflicting. First point though - why would you want to take yours home? It would be like always being on call?!? Secondly, does it vary from station to station if you get your own, and picking up from a point that was raised previously, is there no fail safe to the Pool radios being locked away and you turning up for a shift and not being able to work because someone has taken the key? Sounds bizarre

Hi All, Just wondered if anybody had the proper breakdown of what we need to do to qualify for the reward scheme before the end of March. I am aware that it is 46 x 4 hour tours of duty but I think there are other requirements such as events etc?? It obviously isn't the reason I joined but given that I'm getting a fair few shifts in it makes sense to try and get this reward if I can. Cheers Jack *Found another thread about it but no mention of specifically how much training or events we need to do.

I've covered the hours needed for the reward payment but have only worked two events so far. How strict are training about this? My problem with the weekday events is that they seem to start earlier than I finish at work. However, I could do more football games at the weekend if necessary. Martin

Hi all, I was sent an email this morning (as was other SCs) regarding the recruitment process from SC to PC... Everyone knows that you must be a SC for at least a year before you can apply for the role of PC but there was a lot of confusion when the year actually started. According to force recruitment it's a year from the date of being sworn in, not the date you joined.

Hi Guys, I fancy trying a shift in another division for a change of scenery, was thinking of A division. Has anyone done this? Did you just phone your station of choice and arrange a shift yourself? Thanks! :D

Hi, I've recently progresed through my assessment centre and only have vetting and the final panel interview left. I really want to go to a police station and just talk to some current serving L&B officers and if possible a probationer. There is only so much information I can find out on the web and I want to find out more on day to day tasks, operations and life within L&B. What is the best way to go about this, just turn up or phone the station to arrange a time? Also is there a better time to go, i.e. beginning mid or end of shift? Thank you for any advice.

Hey folks! Just wondering if any of you know when we get paid in December? I thought it was the 24th last year but not sure if that's because of holidays and whatever. Cheers

Hi folks ! Is anyone else on here that's sitting theirs on this day too?? Have to say, I'm crapping it !! Fell relatively ok about the SET because I've been studying like mad, but it's really a hit or miss with the fitness test for me, some days I crack the time limit, and other days I'm way over the time limit, what gives???!!!!!
