Hi all, I am hoping someone can help me here as I can't find the article anymore, but basically Tesco are to recruit resident coppers into their stores. Obviously they wouldn't be working for Tesco, they will still be police officers, but in an attempt to boost community spirit, and as Tesco is so huge, they have seen this as an initiative. Now thats one part of the story, the next part I was slightly concerned with, and I am thinking it isn't applying to Scotland (Pardon the poor grammar). With looming Police Cuts, Tesco is vowing to offer positions of Team leaders/Managers and customer service assistants to police specials who become victims of the police cut backs…

Hi lads and ladies, I just graduated from Stirling University in June with an Hons in Software Engineering. I always wanted to be in the police so I decided to apply, as well as applying for software graduate jobs. I got a letter last week informing me that I will be sitting my SET/fitness soon but I havent had a date yet. I have one major concern tho, my weight. I checked the BMI for my height and I should be 11st 8 lbs, I am far from that. I do powerlifting and bodybuilding and I weigh 14.5 stone. I can do the time for the run no problem, I just hope they take my weight situation into account. Anybody else think they will have probs with the BMI test? Thanks.

Hi guys, Just revising for my intial interview and wondered if any one knows where I can find a list of the sub divisional commanders for G division? I've had a look on the strathy websit but to no avail. Also, any suggestions on what the main issues Strathclyde police are facing at the moment? Cheers, :D

Hi all :D Just for your info: As you know we need to get our own torches when we are ready to go out on the beat. Well I work in Currys.digital in Town and we have the LED Lenser Police Tech torch in, and its a great torch and apparently a lot of officers use it. Its currently priced at £24.99, which I think is very reasonable and competitive as it was on ebay for over £33! (I decided to treat myself and get it) If you are interested then pm or reply and I will check stock when I am in again on Saturday (as we only ever have a few at a time). But its a very good torch and at a good price...I can also arrange a wee demo as I am sure we get some that have batteries and…

Hi folks ! I was just wondering if anyone could tell me a bit more about the fitness test at Jackton.......well, actually, what I really want to know is what you actually did for your fitness test, or things that you have heard from others who've been through it. Any info would be really appreciated, as I sit my SET and fitness in a few weeks and I'm really starting to panic big-time about it now!!!!! Thank-you!!!!
