hi ive got my SET/ fitness coming up on tuesday ive been training away in the gym and was really sure that ill make the 1.5m within the 12mins, but i went for a run with my iphone that got an app "run keeper" that keeps tracks of your runs. To my suprise i only managed 1.56m in 12.48mins, clearly that not good enough. Ive already failed the SET 2 times though nearly five years ago, this time im confidant ill pass the SET but not sure if i should now risk the run, So basically need to know if i was to pass the SET but to fail the fitness will it be my final attempt or is the fitness seen as separate. Many thanks for any info/ advice p.s. does any one know how long they…

As Jazz Hands reminded - I'm probably gonna get a roasting here (Pardon the pun) So I intend to apply to the force as a special, application ready, just waiting on my licencee status expiring on the 1st September, but Saw this article today. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display...ecruit_gays.php I am openly gay, and have been for many years, but I'm not one of these fairy gays (I need to be careful here). I have never played on my sexuality, and have always held my own (The inuendo's are unavoidable am afraid). Discrimination has never been an issue to me, if I have the skills for a job and the experience, I trust I would do well at it, unless someone else ha…

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how I would stand with joining Strathclyde Police with regards to tattoos, as I have 2 on my forearms, which are my mothers and fathers names in Chinese 3 characters on each arm about 3cm each in length and I also have another tattoo on the inside of my right bicep. Does anyone know how I would stand with these?

Hi All, Just wondering how placement was allocated following completion of the training at Jackton. Do you get to choose the Division/Station you work from, are you provided with a set of choices, are you just told based on your home address. I'm just wondering because my local choices would be either Kilmarnock or Irvine. On this note, are there any Specials from either of these divs, and are there any recommendations? I've heard Irvine is quite a 'busy' place to work from. ATB Martin.

Hi, Found this website and found it interesting so i decided to join you all, Can anyone tell me IF there is a limit in how many times you can apply to Strathclyde Police?? I sat the SET 6 years ago and passed but then moved to Northern Ireland as my partner at the time did not settle in Scotland, I have applied the past two years and have been rejected at the application stage ! I know that i do not need to sit the SET exam again and would go straight to the initial fitness test.I am due to apply again as my year is up and was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a limit to applying?? Thanks.

Hey Guys Hope you are all doing well I have my SET's and initial fitness test on the 4th September. Ive been studying like mad and doing military type training - I trained 3 times a week anyway and I have always been strict about my fitness but wanted to step it up so I'm more confident and prepared plus I love feeling like I'm gonna drop dead at the end of a session ! But I was wondering if you guys can give me any tips about what to expect on the day? Also I know this is stupid but do I show up wearing training gear or do they let you get changed after the written part? Appreciate any help you can give me Pup xx
