So what problems do regulars/staff and specials foresee with the financial difficulties of Strathclyde Police? Ultimately, I agree, the police still have a job to do and shouldn't be worrying about budget controls, but is there anything that might happen to strain the resources further. I believe CC House made a lot of shake ups when he came to power in the force, and I think possibly some for the good and some not so much for the good, but can he continue his police action plan by having to cut so many costs and clawing this money back. For instance..I have applied to be a 'turnkey' in Greenock, but could this be a position that is expendable and just pull the officer…

Just out of curiosity more than anything... I know that Strathclyde have 'security officers' who cover custody, but I have just seen night cops and there was a guy in custody wearing a polo shirt, not the normal regs uniform top and he had a baton.... So, do L&B have security officers in custody who can use batons? If not - who could this strange gentleman have been :-)
