Hello, Im really looking forward to the passing out parade at Tulli 4th Sept my husband and my sister should be passing out on this day and im chuffed for both of them Im just wondering times really, for time off my work and for organising a meal for all of us after it? Anyone recently passed out from Tulli on a Friday, what happens at it what should we expect and what times etc do you know of? Any help would be mucho appreciated ! Lou x

Hey Guys, Im just thinking, i am physically fit.. but can someone give us newbe's a serious heads-up about the fitness level required and what type of things expected to be done.... Ie. 5 mile run? that type of idea! Thanks Chris

Hi Guys. I have applied for Strathclyde Police and have SET and fitness on 15th Sept. The only thing I am worried about is the vetting process. I am a good girl and have no convictions and my fiance is a police officer so obv he is fine too. The only thing is that my dad has a criminal record. I know he was in a bit of bother before he even met my mum (not too sure what for though) and when him and my mum were splitting up a few years ago he caused a bit of trouble with domestics etc. I have had no contact with my dad since him and my mum split up and neither does the rest of my family. I have been wanting to apply for years but this is what has always put me off! W…

Hi All I have been reading some of the posts as I have applied to join the Specials (passed PRI) but I have a different question to ask. I applied to join the regulars in 2004 and passed the entrance test, Interviews, role play etc and then disaster struck! I was rejected on medical grounds! It is while looking at this forum that I can't believe I didn't appeal! I have looked at the Home Office advice in regards to medicals and I believe I wasn't given a chance. Hi, Recieved a letter a week back stating that I'd be going up for my fitness test and SET at some point soon (date not confirmed yet) but Im just wondering if anyone who's nearly went through all of the application process could get in touch with me and just give me a detailed run-down of what to expect etc...I've been on the website everyday looking stuff up but would feel more comfortable hearing it from someone who's just done it all. if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Has anyone actually made it online yet? I've been on and off the phone for the last two weeks trying to get it sorted. Thankfully, a woman from my Divisional HQ has been working on it but has had to deal with people at Jackton and now people at Pitt Street before I can get sorted out. Apparently there's a big list of specials who aren't registered for the system yet. Martin

Hiya I was wondering - there is roughly 9 people that applied full time I joined the specials with who have all been accepted - on of them failed twice before? I was wondering if anyone heard of a special who never got in to reg;'s for whatever reason. Even at my statiojn I work with few ex specials who were all succesfull at 1st try after joining special's?! Is it commonly heard of for people the be rejected - obviously bearing in mind they have the relevant fitness test results etc.... whats your toughts - views etc!?!

Hi All, I read a few days ago, a post on here about a special who worked a plain clothes shift. I'm not a special (yet) but my understanding of the powers of a special were as follows: "Special Constables hold the power of office only when in uniform, unlike Police Constables, when not in uniform, Special Constables can only perform a citizens arrest, whereas when Police Constables are off duty and out of uniform can still arrest" Now that was my understanding, so when I read that this Special (Sorry can't remember ID) carried out a plain clothes shift, will he be carrying out citizens arrests while working - or does he hold delegated powers from the Chief Constable?…

Hello Guys, I am looking hard to try and source a Hi-Viz jacket for use in the wet and windy north. The jacket I am looking for is one that so far only Strathcyle are using.
