Evening Folks, I have my initial fitness which is 1.5 miles in 14 minutes for a female under 29...my timing varies 8etween 9.52 - 11.00mins, however I have 8een advised that there is a multi stage fitness test which can 8e used as an alternative depending on weather conditions. Given the fact it's Decem8er with Santa appearing around the corner I thought it would 8e wise to get a hold of this on disc and have a good few practice runs, which I did, however I find it relitvely easy to reach stage 10 which is giving me cause for concern as I though it would 8e more demanding. Did anyone else feel like this? Also have they increased the times for the 1.5 mile run, it seeme…

Hi folks, wondering if you can help. About to start my second attempt at applying for Strathclyde Police. I have noticed now that applications can be submitted electronically. Has anyone recently submitted their application via e-mail and would they recommend it? What would the script be with regards to signing the declaration at the end of the form? With the ongoing postal strikes i thought this would be a good idea to e-mail it rather than get it held up in a sorting office somewhere along the line but now i am worried if e-mailling it would be unsafe too!! Please help! Thanks in advance. W.

Hi guys. I hope everyone is doing well in their own application process. I passed the SET and initial fitness test a few weeks back. Was really chuffed, perhaps more releived as i knew i could do it. So got the Initial interview coming up, and have been doing my research; Chief Constable, 8 divisions, force priorities/initiatives, local division. Visited 2 police stations, also looked at the probabtioner training time table, read the last 2 annual reports basically trying to cover all bases. I think its important to be able to have a good speel about yourself and why you want to join the police, why strathclyde, your qualities, things you could improve on. Hopefully i…

Hi I am new to the site but have found some really useful information which I hope will help me to achieve my goal of becoming a police officer. I posted my application off yesterday and wait a reply, I passed the set 6 years ago but failed the initial interview due to a lack of studying, my own fault, won't make the same mistake again. I have been doing lots of running to get my fitness up to speed. Though just looking for some advice. I can run 1.5 miles between 10.30 - 11.30 mins which falls into my age cat (30yrs) I run 4.5 miles 3 times a week but I have never done a bleep test, can anyone give advice on this and what else is in the test Thanks

Hi Everyone I am going for my SET and Fitness test on the 1st of Nov but im now worrying about my financial situation for the vetting stage. I am currently in dispute with my previous job about over payment of salary and they have passed the matter to a debt collection team. Its only for £100 but i shouldnt need to pay it back but im now thinking i should just pay it to ensure that it wont hold me back in the vetting stages. Any advice really welcome. Im also concerned about my fiance penalty points on his licence. I emailed Jackton and they said i didnt need to declare on application form but do you think this will affect me at vetting stage? Thanks guys
