Hi guys Found a short video on this site. It shows a short video of the push/pull test and also a 2 minute clip of the bleep test. hopefully it'll show you how hard or easy you think it is and gives you a bit of time to try and prepare especially for the bleep test :smiley_vomit: http://www.acpos.police.uk/Policies_FitnessStnd.html Stevie

Hi all, I am enquiring as to anyone with 'up to date' knowledge on Strathclyde Police recruitment. I am a serving Military Policeman and looking at applying within the next 6 months. I am aware of the normal recruitment process however if there is anyone going through or has just gone through the recruitment process I would appreciate a heads up. Thanks

Hi guys, Emailed recruitment on recruiting.police@strathclyde.pnn.police.uk as per the website just over a week ago and still have no response.... Is this normal for an email? Have emailed Strathclyde in the past and other forces too and had a response within a day or two. Was just concerned that my emails might of been playing up... Don't want to go pestering anyone with another email

Just back from my local office (LB) and enquired about the policy surrounding the issued fleeces & jackets. I have been told from our Sgt that if we have not been issued with the micro fleeces or bomber style jackets then we are to continue using our issued fleeces & jackets. Saying that, I appreciate that local offices may have different policies on the old style fleeces & jackets. But basically if they cant update or kit then we are to continue using the fleeces & jackets they did issue us with. That said, fleeces are to be worn on top of body armour and NOT underneath. Hope this helps a wee bit. Cheers, Scott.

So for the first time since joining, I found myself, along with another special and 2 regulars, protecting a locus for 3 hours last night. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had eaten before my shift but things didn't quite go to plan. As a result, I found myself having not eaten for 9 hours, protecting this locus...a particularly quiet one at that...so, when you're starting to lose the will to live, what tips have you got for relieving the boredom (and recurring thoughts of McDonalds) whilst carrying out this less glamorous duty? Hi everyone Just wondering if anybody can help us on here. I remember at Jackton Elaine said we need to do a minimum amount of hours after our oath of office until 31/03/10, in order to be put forward for the award bonus, can anybody remember the number of hours? Also the £30 boot allowance she mentioned, can we claim for this just now? Or do we need to wait until we have completed a certain amount of hours or time? Cheers

Hello, Any specials out there joining B Division. I believe our first tour or induction is 18:00, 14Jan2010 at Baird Street Police Station. Can anyone going into B Division confirm this? Furthermore has anyone going into B Division been contacted by division since the Oath of Office regarding their sub-division and where they will be stationed? Cheers.

Hi all, Anyone else got their final interview at Jackton this week? I'm starting to get really nervous and looking around for more and more info, worried that I'm going to end up trying to take in so much information that I don't manage to learn anything! Any last minute tips/advice much appreciated!

Hi, have a neighbour who's left two notes on my car windscreen asking me to "park more respectively" of other residents with vehicles. Basically my car's always parked sensibly, it's just he doesn't like it sitting outside his front door (which is also the access point to my property). Already left a polite reply stating nobody has the right to a particular parking space, that on the day he left his note his vehicle was in violation of Sect 22 Road Traffic Act 1988 - it was parked on a junction causing an obstruction - and that any further notes will be treated as harassment. I also said he should have come and spoken to me directly in the first instance, rather than leav…

Hi, I am currently working through some SET practice papers and I intend on booking my driving lessons next week. Will hopefully pass my driving test without having to take lots of lessons. Well, fingers crossed. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to how to successfully complete the application form. I have downloaded it onto my computer and completed most of it, but I was wondering if there is anything in particular which is looked for to successfully pass the sifting process? I am a bit ahead of myself as I haven't learned how to drive yet but I'd rather be organised :-) Thanks
