What are they looking for in the drugs test? Is it just controlled substances or does it include any prescription pills/supplements etc you have taken? I've not taken anything illegal however, i have in the past taken beta blockers but since they aren't illegal shouldn't be an issue? Completely paranoid about every tiny wee thing!

Right, Just to clear some things up!.. Strathclyde police say that if you are a special constable then you can not submit an application to become a regular until 1 year after your Oath Of Office. So basically you can't apply until your 1 year anniversary of being a sworn in special constable. Not from the day you started your training at FTRC. Is this a Strathclyde policy or is it a national/Scottish policy? ..... Now here is my question.. Can we apply to other forces to join as a regular within this one year time period? (i.e another territorial police force, The BTP, Mod Plod, Nuke Defence) To be generally honest, i am not really thinking of applying for anythi…

Do Specials get a locker to keep all the gear in? Would make it easier not to carry the big bags around when working the early shifts and cannot take car up... I would imagine all the lockers are already taken with all the new probationers over the last while? Or it vary greatly depending on station/div

Hi All, Just a quicky, i'm hoping for some clarification. I was under the impression that the application process for strathclyde is as follows: Application SIFT SET&Fitness Initial Interview Vetting Final Interview Medical&Fitness However, i read a number of posts on this forum, that state there is a new process in which the SET, Fitness, intitial interview, CTT and role playing are all wrapped up together over 2days, assuming you pass each module. After which, there is break for vetting, then final etc. Just a little confused which set of events is correct, as i've read the New process only came into effect this year. I ask also, because my applicati…

Hi folks, I am interested to find out what you are comfortable handling? licence premises checks, Local warrants checks, Fixed penalty tickets?etc.... What do you think you most come across on duty and what shift did you cover this on?(Early, Late or night?) Was it with community or shift or support? This topic might also give our new intake an idea of what they might expect to handle once they are out of FTRC and at division. Let the list begin.

Hey fellas and fellaettes Im starting to get really itchy feet. My vetting started in late november, and im STILL waiting on word back . Its driving me nuts because i know vetting is dead easy to fail. Ive contacted recruitment back in jan, and i really dont trust royal mail to deliver, as a few of my other police letters didnt arrive. Do you think id just annoy them by calling up at the end of this month? :s Any reply is appreciated.

hi all, Got final fitness and substance misuse test coming up. Hopefully fitness will be straightforward. Have never done the 1.5 miles in more than 11 mins - although I've never done the beep test and that worries me a bit. just wondered if anyone can say how long you wait on the drugs test results? It's weird that I can safely say I've never taking anything that's illegal but still feel like the results out of my control! And, I shave my head but I've been growing my hair so they can get a decent amount for tests, am I being daft and they'll use blood/urine if my hairs pretty short?!

As you’ll see by my user name I am an officer with HM Coastguard. As part of our schools PR I am looking to do short videos of each emergency service. Having them filmed in the local area I feel would help kids to relate to the local area etc.and how each each work together. How easy is it for a civi to get a ride along with an officer?
