Hi I am attending the Assessment Day at Tulliallan on the 11th March 2010. Applied to Lothian and Borders and can't wait to go to Kincardine! My partner has recently passed out from Tulliallan so I have been harassing him for knowledge and getting him to test me. Hopefully the shin splints will stay away on the day - my legs, in fact , my BODY hates me at the moment from all the training lawl! Is anyone else going on this day? Any L & B people? M

Hey, something that i have been thinking about, so i will throw it to you lot. "Joe Blogs" comes up and asks for a photo with yourself for being a police officer.. Personally i would tell them where to stick it in a polite manner, but is there anything that says we can or can't be pictured? I'm obviously talking about on shift.. in uniform.. before someone is sarcastic.. You see it all the time on peoples social networking sites.. pictures of random people (obviously just coming out of the clubs and pubs) pictured with "PC Blogs", then they stick it on there albums or whatever (edited to make something more clear.)

Starting to get the old butterflies in me stomach after booking flights and hotel. A few wee questions to ask? Im arriving a day before test, is it possible to do a trail of the 1.5 track. Any details what the run is like ie surface, plus is everyone going to run like a 400m sprinter? The start time for SET is 9.00am then fitness, what time do you leave/finish at. I dont want to say it, but if i failed. How long is it to wait to re-sit the exam. If i pass the exam and fail the fitness can you re-try the fitness at a later date?. :smiley_vomit: Dave

I joined the reward scheme mid way through - having passed out in June - and therefore was of the view that I would probably only qualify for half the reward as per the the schemes' provisions. However I now find myslef in a position where ifIi do 8 hours more between now and the end of MarHa that I will have done the number of hours that are required for the full reward scheme - only I will have done them from August to March rather than April to March! Question is will I be eligible fo the full reward - or will the fact that I wasn't in the scheme at 1 April 2009 mean it won't count??

Hi, I'm currently filling out my application form for strathclyde police. After reading numerous websites and most topics on this forum, i'd like to know if people think it is a good idea to pay for one of the many courses available that help guide and prepare you for the SET's, interview's, etc? They aren't the cheapest, £40 for all the SET papers alone. I have downloaded the practice papers from strathclyde polices website and passed them without much of a problem. With regards to the interviews, i have and continue to build up as much info on division, competencies and all the other areas that other threads have discussed. Hiys Was just thinking about something - the average age for cops to join the reg's is about 20-25, and as an older person (33) not scarily old but you know, would you think this was old to join the regs.... Does anyone have any experience or know of anyone who may be on the older side of any intake's.... Yor thoughts much appreciated

Hi, I have my initial interview on 8th March and I have been collecting as much info as I can. I find it easier studying with PowerPoint so I made my own from the notes I have collated. So I finally got a date for the final fitness test, which I passed last week. I'm now hopefully starting in July at tulliallan. I'm so relieved and can't wait to start!!

Hey, I am currently filling out my application through the shared recruitment process and I'm kinda stuck lol. It asks you about your current and previous employers, their address and all, it then asks for a brief description of your duties which is fine but I cant seem to see where they want you to enter the brief description. Its an online application and you can only enter information into certain fields. Is anyone else having the same trouble? Or am I just missing something lol thanks :)
