Morning Folks, Just thinking to myself, and like always some of you might think this is complete balls or some of you may see a valid point Why do FTRC not draft in Specials to help with the intakes? I understand that we are no sort of instructors but are a few extra bodies not a help for the donkey work? Example. Staff shortage on my intakes first day at FTRC for DNA & finger printing.. and obviously only an officer can do this, so would it not be handy having some specials? There might be some rule or regulation that says no and shoots me out of the water, but days like airwave training ETC... Some extra bodies would have been good for that? Certainly on my i…

Hi Guys n Gals I have recently had my application to the regulars accepted and getting a bit twitchy about the Standard Enterance Test. Anyone any idea of how much notice you get for the exam? Also I heard that their is a proposal to lower the pass rate, any truth in that? Cheers!!

Hi All!! I am going to Tullialan on 18th March having passed the application stage, and I am totally scared of this run!! Just wondering if anyone has any help in preparing myself for it? I have started walking to my current job which is roughly 2.5 miles but need to start the running. Is fartlek training the best? Thanks guys :-)

Alright folks, Just wondering if anyone knows how it works at jackton and tulliallan respectively. The wuestions buzzing round my nut include: Can you leave after the days work and be back for sleeping time? (Guessing you HAVE to stay on-site) Are cars allowed? Are Visitors allowed? what are the rooms like at tulliallan? (are they a mess [shared rooms] or individuals? ) And anyone with any other questions, please post! And those with answers, you too!

Hey everyone, just looking for any last minute tips for next week....this is my second time at my final but im afraid i dont remember too much,apart from the words am sorry but we wont be putting you through this time lol...... Hi all, I read yesterday on the puter at work, that the Long Service and Good Conduct medal qualifying period, is to be reduced from 22 to 20 years, in line with the other emergency services. As for some reason, we had to do an extra 2 years than the others. Only 3 years 363 days to go then........lol

Hi, I was just wondering, when your a special do you have to take all of your equipment home (excluding CS and Radio) and take it to the station everytime your on shift. I would imagine the majority of specials dont have a permanent locker, so what is it you have to take home with you? Do you keep certain things in station? Thanks Just Wondering.....

Submitted my application yesterday and at the very end it asked whether i associated with anyone who had criminal convictions etc etc. Last yr my step dad was cautioned with breach of the peace for a domestic incident. There wasn't anywhere on the form to declare this so i put it in at the back with a note saying wasn't sure if it should go here etc as wasn't a conviction and was the only thing anyone in my family had ever been in trouble for. Is this going to knock me out at the paper sift? I felt i should declare it somewhere but was not anywhere else on the form for it to go.
